You will be part of a group in Pfizer that comprises experts in the major scientific disciplines involved in the discovery and preclinical development of small molecule drugs. Specifically, you will be involved in the analysis and purification of a broad range of achiral/chiral small molecule compounds as well as responsible for implementing novel technologies/workflows to expedite such processes.

You will play a vital role as a key contributor in large, multi-disciplinary matrix teams from project inception through to delivery of clinical drug candidates. You will provide key contributions to the implementation of analytical chemistry strategies through development and execution of innovative techniques that help to revolutionize expedite our approach to the discovery and development of small molecule and synthetically derived drugs.

Your significant experience of applying knowledge of principles, concepts, and practices of the analytical chemistry discipline will make you a critical member of the team.

Your skill and knowledge will help in making decisions that require choosing among limited options. You are proactive in contributing to all team discussions and creating an environment of collaboration.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Contribute to achievement of immediate work group goals and collaborate with other team members.
  • Build effective partnerships with other research lines, in particular synthetic medicinal chemistry, technology, pharmaceutical sciences and process chemistry groups.
  • Develop efficient approaches to both the singleton and parallel purification of small molecule compounds through developing an expertise in both HPLC and SFC methodologies.
  • Drive the utilization of the most contemporary and effective analytical/purification instrumentation and technologies.
  • Communicate work clearly and concisely to internal stakeholders through written and verbal communications.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science related field with 2 to 5 years of experience OR Master's Degree in Science related field with 0 to 4 years of experience
  • Experience in compound analysis/purification by HPLC and/or SFC methods
  • Familiarity with standard laboratory techniques and working knowledge of NMR, LC-MS and standard analytical techniques.
  • Interact effectively with peers and leaders as part of a multi-disciplinary team and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills

Nice-to-Have

  • Broad knowledge of various analytical software packages (e.g. Agilent, Shimadzu, Waters etc)
  • Familiarity with development/execution of workflows for the parallel purification of compound libraries

Physical Requirements:

  • Work environment is a standard analytical laboratory and may require standing for long periods of time.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $64,600.00 to $107,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
