This will be addressed by generation of strong data packages from target hypotheses derived from academic outreach and initiatives. You will be an essential member of this team and creatively design and execute key experiments to address the basic and translational biology of novel drug targets, their molecular pathways, and their connection to human disease. You will support projects in one or more therapeutic areas of interest to Pfizer including Immunology and Virology.

With your deep knowledge in the discipline, you will be an active team member who influences at the project team level. You will be using your scientific judgment to adapt standard methods and techniques by applying prior work experience and consulting others. Your ability to plan will help in preparing short-term work activities on projects. Your creativity in developing novel processes and new ideas will be used frequently. You will undertake mentoring activities to guide your team members.

How You Will Achieve It
- Contribute to achievement of goals of the team and influence at the work group/project team level.
- Apply technical skills and functional knowledge to projects/ assignments within own work group/ project team independently and proactively.
- Coordinate preclinical in vivo studies across viral projects and teams.
- Provide in vivo study support including authoring and review of dosage instructions, study reports and submission documentation.
- Management of in vivo samples and reagents, including transfer, storage, inventory and distribution.
- Utilize scientific literature to research program specific animal models and technologies.
- Assist team in vaccine preparation, cage-side syringe filling and sample processing (if/as needed)
- Assist in tissue processing (if/as needed).
- Work with research leads to prepare and present experimental designs to project teams.
- Ensure data integrity by performing data source verification.
- Complete required documentation in a compliant manner.
- Comply with all trainings and good laboratory practices, agreement to wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) when appropriate.
- Other applicable tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- Bachelor's Degree in related science with 6+ years of experience OR Master's degree related science with 4+ to 6 years of relevant experience
- A positive and professional attitude, being proactive is key!
- Excellent organization and planning skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently or as part of a team, strong motivation with a dedicated work ethic
- Strategic thinking with troubleshooting capabilities.
- Impeccable attention to details
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Flexibility and adaptability with the ability to pivot to accommodate urgent requests
- Proficiency with personal computers including word processing, Excel, PowerPoint and relevant scientific software.
Nice-to-Have
- Background in immunology or virology
- Experience with preclinical animal models
- Laboratory experience in a relevant field of science
- Experience of handling biological samples
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Accessing samples in ultra-cold freezers (LN2, -80C, -20C)
- Bending, lifting, walking from lab to lab and building to building.
- Wearing proper PPE, including N95 (or PAPR) in vivarium
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
- Equipment monitoring requires the ability to be contacted by phone 24/7/365. Must take action when required.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $74,900.00 to $124,800.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
