ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

This role will work on projects across all five verticals within S&C: US Primary Care & Specialty Care, Global Commercial Platforms, Oncology, International as well as Corporate and Research and Development.

As a Manager on the Strategy & Consulting team your main accountabilities will be:

  • Strategic Initiative Leadership: Support key strategic projects, ensuring they are aligned with the company's long-term goals and delivered on time
  • Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis: Conduct in-depth research to identify market trends, diagnose internal processes, and evaluate potential risks, providing actionable insights to inform enterprise decisions
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with senior executives and cross-functional teams to develop and communicate strategic recommendations and drive alignment
  • Teaming and Mentoring: Build personal awareness and model a continuous growth mindset

You will have frequent exposure to a variety of senior leadership (VPs, SVPs, and Presidents) across Pfizer's different business units, helping to build your network for a long and successful career at Pfizer. You will be reporting to a Director Team Lead who is invested in accelerating your growth and development at Pfizer. This role also provides an opportunity to gain broader exposure and experience across all five verticals in Strategy & Consulting.

  • Interact with BU leaders and/or corporate functions to understand their business needs
  • Under the direction of a project lead, support and lead workstreams in a portfolio of projects that provide insight and direction across key strategic levers such as optimal resource allocation, market development, differentiating Pfizer products, improving access for patients, and digital enablement.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of market dynamics to identify macro trends and appropriately assess opportunities and guide strategic direction. Provide perspective on the potential impact of external market signals that could impact future business performance.
  • Deep dive into external and internal sources to uncover patterns and extract novel insights to provide data-driven recommendations and effectively communicate complex information to stakeholders
  • Create an engaging and productive work environment where team members are encouraged to collaborate and excel.
  • Participate in internal/external networking and thought partnership to broaden functional expertise and maintain awareness of industry trends

WHO YOU ARE

Successful candidates for this role typically bring the following skills and experiences:

  • Demonstrated strong strategic thinking skills, as evidenced by the ability to tee up the right questions, identify alternative scenarios, articulate resulting implications, and develop recommendations for decision-making or action
  • Demonstrated project leadership potential, accountable for delivering on workstreams in collaboration with cross-functional colleagues with varying backgrounds and skillsets
  • Demonstrated ability to influence key stakeholders without direct authority (Category Presidents, department leaders, and functional counterparts)
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, including technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and the ability to coach junior team members
  • Understanding of trends and market dynamics in US and Global healthcare and biopharmaceuticals, awareness of competitor strategies, and basic understanding of the drug development and commercialization process
  • Ability to form and refine hypotheses, often from unstructured data and incomplete information, and craft compelling storylines with executive-ready messages
  • Excellent presentation skills sufficient to address Global BU Leadership, and external audiences
  • Demonstrated high learning agility, "team player" mentality, and positive attitude and poise under pressure
  • Basic understanding of finance and P&L implications of any strategy
  • Strong command of English language, spoken and written

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of relevant life sciences or healthcare experience, OR advanced degree (Masters, PhD, MD or equivalent) plus 3 years of relevant healthcare experience.

    • Relevant healthcare experience includes experience working in/with commercial, corporate or R&D biopharma functions involving strategy development and/or strategic initiatives (e.g., marketing, commercial development, market access & pricing, business development, R&D strategy / portfolio management, etc.)
  • 2+ years of biopharmaceutical consulting experience preferred.

  • Location: On premise. Our roles require a high level of collaboration and are subject to Pfizer's flexible hybrid policy of 2-3 days per week working from our brand-new NYC-based global headquarters.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $99,900.00 to $166,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 15.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
