Will include but are not limited to:

• Manage the day-to-day activities of a multidisciplinary team of EHS professionals. Supports with technical assistance, provides direction on focus areas and delivers improvements in operational effectiveness.

• Leads the effective implementation of the sites EHS Management System to ensure compliance and continuous improvement while maintaining certification to the ISO standards.

• Supports and encourages the sites Incident and Incident Free culture, acting as a champion for its achievement.

• Support and engage in the development of talent and capabilities of team members, including interns and rotational colleagues, for future success

• Manages EHS incident investigation process and drive root cause analysis completion.

• Compile, monitor, analyse and respond to leading and lagging performance indicators to ensure controls are maintained effectively; identify and implement EHS continuous improvement initiatives.

• Provide leadership to ensure that the highest standard of EHS performance is achieved and sustained.

• Promote a culture in which Compliance/EHS partners with other groups (operations, Quality, etc.) to identify and resolve conditions that could negatively impact EHS.

• Effectively manage and maintain EHS documentation (Written Programs, Job Safety Analysis, Risk Assessments, Change Management, Action Item Tracking, etc.). Creates the right team to drive these processes.

• Support the timely delivery of new product introduction.

• Project management and other duties as assigned by EHSS Lead.

• Routinely interacts with colleagues and contractors; participates in internal inspections, GEMBA walks, attends/participates in work-group level meetings, seeks/promotes feedback regarding EHS perceptions and performance, etc. Ensures EHS training is current, effective, and is conducted as outlined in EHS training matrix.

Qualifications:

Master's Degree in occupational health & safety, environmental health, health & safety management, Environmental/Chemical/Process Engineering or related field from a recognized institution.

Professional certifications such as the NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent qualification is highly desirable.

Experience:

Minimum of 15 years working experience with at least 5 years managerial / leadership role in environmental, health, and safety, in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.

Strong understanding of Irish environmental, health, and safety regulations, standards, and industry practices.

Experience in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and implementing control measures to mitigate health and safety risks.

Experience leading environmental compliance programs, including waste management, water quality, and Green House Gas requirements is essential.

Experience and technical knowledge in Industrial Hygiene, Biological Safety, and Process Safety programs required.

Previous experience in people management roles, with demonstrated excellent leadership capabilities is a must.

Empathy and sensitivity towards employees' health and safety concerns, promoting a supportive and inclusive work environment.
