We have an exciting opportunity to join the Pfizer Environmental, Health & Safety team as a Manager, Industrial Hygiene. This position is responsible for development and implementation of Industrial Hygiene strategy for the site.
This role will ensure the site meets its regulatory compliance obligations, conforms with Pfizer Global EHS Standards and expectations, ensures the protection of our colleagues form both acute and chronic injuries and illnesses that could be associated with exposure to occupational hazardous agents.
Due to the size and complexity of the site, this role will have the opportunity to coach, develop and lead a small team of industrial hygiene specialists to ensure appropriate systems are in place to control a variety of workplace hazards including potent compounds (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API)) as well as more traditional regulated compounds, chemicals, noise biological and ionizing and non-ionizing radiation sources using contemporary hygiene controls.

What You Will Achieve.
- Manage, coach and develop the Industrial Hygiene (IH) team and consultants
- Develop and manage the site Industrial Hygiene strategy
- Manage Industrial Hygiene budget and ensure sufficient resources are planned and communicated to support the IH strategy
- Maintenance of the qualitative and quantitative annual sampling plans
- Manage IH resources to support site activities whilst simultaneously delivering the agreed IH plans including:
- Qualitative and quantitative industrial hygiene assessments of new and existing products, processes, and capital projects
- Implementation of contemporary exposure controls to assure colleague protection.
- Provision of information, instruction and develops hands-on practical training to increase the knowledge of Industrial Hygiene at all levels of the site
- Develop plans, processes, and tools to assess occupational exposures using strategies that align with the AIHA Exposure Assessment Strategy (or equivalent).
- Partner with Colleague Wellness to ensure Respiratory Protection and Hearing Conservation programs are maintained and aligned with site and Global requirements
- Develop Ergonomic strategy that focuses on risk reduction through enhanced engineering solutions
- Leading and overseeing complex industrial hygiene projects
- Responsible for EHS signature signoff on change control requests for systems with Industrial Hygiene impacts
- Responsible for EHS reporting, data and SDS's using enterprise software solutions
- Conduct and participate in investigations for working conditions to identify corrective and preventative measures that prevent occupational disease and industrial hygiene health hazards
- Engaged with Engineering, Labs, Operations and Quality to ensure adequate Industrial Hygiene controls are in place for new or modification of equipment
- Manage and ensure all Industrial Hygiene programs are current and improvement plans are in place when opportunities for improvement are identified
- Ensure Industrial Hygiene self-audit programs are completed on-time and engaged in Global EHS and 3rd party audits.
- Key decision maker in chemical review program
- Provide Industrial Hygiene expertise to the site emergency response team
Qualifications
Must-Have
- Applicant must have a High School Diploma (or Equivalent) and 10 years of relevant
experience OR an associates degree with 8 years of experience OR a bachelors with at least 5 years of
experience OR Masters Degree with more than 3 years of experience, OR a PhD with 0+ years of experience.
Nice-to-Have
- CIH or other EHS related professional certification
- Proven experience developing industrial hygiene plans and exposure control strategies
- Extensive experience generating qualitative and quantitative exposure assessments
- Ability to self-manage sampling activities from planning, sampling, analysis and reporting
- A broad understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and good manufacturing practices is highly desirable.
- Highly engaged with the ability to effectively coach, influence and motivate colleagues, supervisors and managers
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Able to prioritize and work under pressure
- Ability to lead people
- Master's degree in Industrial Hygiene.
- Experience in the Pharmaceutical industry.
- Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations.
- Experience with Six Sigma/Lean Manufacturing
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to perform field observations which could involve walking or standing on uneven terrain, squatting, bending, twisting, turning, and reaching above shoulder height and work in various climates from extreme cold to heat.
- May require walking, standing, and or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Must be able to walk and drive between site facilities.
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Standard work schedule, Monday - Friday, days; may infrequently require off-shift and weekend support to support sampling activities in line with the production schedule. On call 24/7

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $102 900,00 to $171 500,00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 15,0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
