Pfizer's Oncology portfolio has expanded to over 20 products, including market-leading breast cancer and GU cancer medicines, a leading portfolio of precision medicines with complex diagnostic challenges, a robust oncology biosimilars portfolio, and a mix of oral and IV products. With this growing portfolio, it is crucial to develop holistic strategies that align with individual brand needs and priorities. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Oncology Portfolio Strategy to join our team. In this role, you will lead strategic planning for key initiatives within the oncology portfolio, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive the development and implementation of innovative strategies that enhance our market position and deliver value to patients.

This role involves working with oncology business leaders to shape, develop, and execute strategies that will advance and grow Pfizer's Oncology business. You will partner closely with Commercial Oncology leadership teams to stay connected to key business challenges and opportunities, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities or adjusting when necessary. Additionally, you will provide insights and assessments of market signals that could impact business performance or strategic direction.
Role Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive portfolio strategies that impact multiple brands within the oncology umbrella, driving strategic alignment and seamless execution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, organized accounts teams, and data analytics, to ensure alignment and successful execution of portfolio strategies.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to inform strategic decision-making.
- Prepare and present strategic plans, business cases, and performance reports to senior leadership.
- Partner with BU leaders to develop business strategies. Identify key strategic imperatives and capabilities required to achieve these imperatives.
- Contribute to the completion of a strategy action plan that manages the execution of the strategies.
- Lead a portfolio of projects that provide insight and direction for key strategic levers such as market development, customer needs assessment, competitive advantage, and market or product prioritization.
- Provide perspective on the potential impact of external market signals that could affect future business performance.
- Develop deep expertise in market dynamics to identify trends, assess opportunities, and guide strategic direction.
- Understand the priorities of the triads and/or corporate functional leads to represent business needs and the status of opportunity evaluations.
- Develop external relationships that provide perspective on the diverse ecosystem outside of Pfizer as it relates to the areas of the business you support.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant healthcare experience required, including experience working in or with commercial functions involving strategy development and/or strategic initiatives (e.g., marketing, commercial development, market access & pricing, etc.).
- Proven track record of strong performance, teamwork, creativity, and the ability to collaborate with colleagues from multiple functional areas.
- Strong execution and project management skills, with the ability to work proactively and under tight timelines.
- Strong strategic and analytical thinking abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading cross-functional workstreams with senior colleagues.
- Experience in the oncology marketplace.
- Ability to work effectively in a matrix organization and lead with indirect authority.
- Ability to work with complex information and distill it into a framework that facilitates decision-making.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $161,600.00 to $269,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
