ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead and represent the MCC function for China at the global level within the MEI and Medical Categories.

  • Partner with International Category Medical Leads and the Global Medical Content team to China content needs are included as part of the global plans.
  • Partner with Global Medical Channel Excellence Team to support activation and optimization of relevant medical channels in China.
  • Partner with Field Medical Excellence to ensure all content for field medical colleagues is pulled through from the global team.
  • Partner with Medical Analytics group to measure the impact of all medical channel content initiatives in China and share learnings in-country and across International Content Team

Lead the creation and adaptation of medical channel content in China across the Pfizer portfolio providing functional and subject matter expertise.

  • Partner with Chinese medical leadership team/s to design and deliver local medical channel content strategies to optimize the engagement and reach of emerging Pfizer scientific data to address care gaps across our portfolio.
  • Lead the Global to local, localization and adaption of priority global medical content assets to support critical scientific data releases for assigned country/ies.
  • Manage all country medical content requests, identifying opportunities for re-use and then managing demand for in-house and external content creation resources.

Lead and manage the MCC Content Managers aligned to China to ensure the efficient delivery of content plans on time and to a high quality.

  • Recognizes and nurtures talent and supports the development needs for colleagues, creating development opportunities within the MEI platform and other parts of the organization.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to colleagues on relevant Pfizer SOPs and guidance documents.

Lead, inspire and embed the transformation & new ways of working for the International MCC Team, as a part of the MEI platform.

  • Lead the in-country implementation of the new MCC operating model and ways of working to enable medical to communicate a consistent global scientific narrative across our portfolio that can address care gaps with speed, efficiency and scale.
  • Strives for continuous improvements in our operating model, champions innovation and establishes new projects and ways of working that advance the vision of the MEI platform within medical affairs, ensuring integrity, performance, and teamwork.

Basic Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific/healthcare degree required (MD, PharmD, PhD, MS, etc.)
  • For BA/BS minimum 10 years' experience in the healthcare/pharmaceutical sector
  • For MBA/MS minimum 8 years' experience in the healthcare/pharmaceutical sector
  • For PharmD/PhD minimum 6 years' experience in the healthcare/pharmaceutical sector
  • For MD minimum 3 years' experience in the healthcare/pharmaceutical sector

Skills & Capabilities & Experiences

  • Proven leadership skills, including leadership across the matrix and managing junior staff.
  • Proven ability to influence without authority.
  • Excellent collaboration and communications skills.
  • Ability to operate with ambiguity, forging new ways forward.
  • Mindset of continuous improvement, using data to inform strategy and decision making.
  • Excellent understanding of the changing healthcare environment and the rapid advancement of digital technology in healthcare and medical communications.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent prioritisation and time management ability.
  • Medical Affairs experience working in China
  • Experience working on complex digital projects to engage HCPs.

Language requirements

  • Strong written and oral skills in English
  • Fluent written and oral skills in local language
