What You Will Achieve

Support the AIP Solvent Recovery & Distribution (SRD) unit. SRD recovers solvents associated with API process waste streams to assure all processing parameters & specs.

Analyzes / designs sequence of recovery operations and workflow to improve the company's recovery facilities within regulations and GMP guidelines. Activities may include process monitoring, safety and building improvements, troubleshooting, process reliability improvements, validation, and technology transfers.

May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures and may train personnel concerning all phases of recovery operations.

How You Will Achieve It

Functional/Technical Knowledge: Application of industry, functional and Pfizer-specific principles, theories, concepts, and practices to improve solvent recovery operations. Apply basic leadership principles. Focus is on leading/overseeing defined processes.

Problem Solving and Innovation: Troubleshoot a wide range of solvent recovery issues. Able to gather, analyze and interpret information and identify cause and effect relationships. Able to adapt and respond positively to situations and people in order to meet changing work unit priorities. Identify cost improvement projects.

Impact and Organizational Contribution: Contribute to the completion of specific programs and projects. Ensure that projects are completed on schedule following established procedures and schedules. Erroneous decisions or recommendations or failure to achieve results might cause delays in program schedules and result in the allocation of more resources.

Teamwork/Influence: Primarily internal company contacts. Inter-organizational and outside customer contacts on routine matters only. May represent department on specific intra-Pfizer projects. Accomplish daily operational tasks mainly through colleagues. May lead site teams. Contact with outside organizations and customers. Represent the organization in providing solutions to issues associated with specific problems. Work collaboratively with others to gain agreement on a course of action.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Applicant must have HS Diploma with six years of relevant experience; OR an Associate's degree with four years of experience; OR a Bachelor's degree with 0-2 years of experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people or processes
  • Laboratory experience required (testing, data reviewing, or other supporting activities for laboratory operation)
  • Basic functional and technical knowledge of the discipline
  • Good organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to document clearly and concisely
  • Effective written and oral communication
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Applications

Nice-to-Have

  • Indirect leadership experience {e.g. testing/team Subject Matter Expert project lead, training lead)
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computerized systems, experience and use of Laboratory Information Management System and Quality Tracking System

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical Demands: Frequent time in both manufacturing and office environments. The manufacturing environment includes equipment with moving parts. Must be able to perform gowning requirements for entry in the manufacturing areas.

Requires lifting, sitting, standing, walking, stair climbing and roof access.

• Work Environment: Office environment with frequent time in the outdoor manufacturing areas. Possible exposure to high noise environments, solvents, and pharmaceutical ingredients. Use of hearing and eye protection is required.

NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS

Role supports a 24-hour production environment. Primary responsibilities occur M-F during normal working hours. Some off hour and holiday coverage may be required.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $64,600.00 to $107,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
