Job Description Summary

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the accounting operations, performing day to day bank reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and providing strategic financial insights to support business decisions. This role requires a high level of expertise in accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.

Key Responsibilities

Bank statements reconciliation

  • Reconciling the daily bank statements on Workday ERP System.
  • Ensuring the Auto reconciliation process capturing the right transaction against the book entry.
  • Working with AP and other teams closely to close the open items.
  • Preparing the daily cash position report.

Business Skills

  • Work with internal teams to drive process improvements and resolve escalations and discrepancies on Open items and any other issues.
  • Recommend process improvements to ensure accurate and timely recording and application of Vendor Payments and other payments.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting and analysis.
  • Assist with other accounting and finance functions as needed.

Complexity

  • Ability to perform a range of work activities in varied environments. May contribute to routine issue resolutions.

Autonomy

  • Working under routine direction. Uses limited discretion in resolving issues or enquiries work without frequent reference to others.

Environment

  • Understand the business drivers.

  • Carryout any other reasonable duties as requested.

Functional Competencies (Technical knowledge/Skills)

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and company records.
  • Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and classified.
  • Support other areas of business during month end in preparing and posting journals.
  • Prepare and post Prepaid and accrual journals.
  • Prepare AP and Prepaid Reconciliation after the month end close.
  • Prepare Profit and loss variance analysis on monthly, Quarterly and yearly basis.
  • Prepare and review financial statements related to cash and bank accounts.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for bank reconciliation.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits.
  • Provide training and support to junior accounting staff on bank reconciliation processes.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.
  • Prepare Monthly and Quarterly reconciliations in Excel and action on review points from Approvers. Ensure proper supporting are attached on the reconciliation template.
  • Ensure open items and research items are investigated and actioned.

Experience, Education, and Certifications

  • Solid professional experience in the same or very similar role.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience is needed
  • Exemplifies traits of being a team player
  • With continuous improvement and critical mindset
  • Preferably with a bachelor's degree in finance/accounting as Major Subject.
  • English: Fluent
