About the role
Invicro is seeking applicants for a Scientist position to support the translational activities for our growing chemistry team. As a Scientist, you will be responsible for the chemical synthesis of materials for radiotracer development and translation, as well as preclinical and clinical manufacturing operations. You will also support ongoing manufacturing of both preclinical and clinical radiopharmaceuticals. The position will involve handling of radioisotopes and research in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment while working alongside senior team members to gain extensive experience and knowledge in the areas of PET synthesis, imaging, and medicinal chemistry.
Essential Functions
- Synthesis and characterization (HPLC, MS, NMR) of materials needed for tracer manufacturing efforts.
- Manufacturing of radiotracers to support discovery phase through GMP implementation
- Establish and implement analytical methods for characterization of radiolabeled compounds.
- Independently solve technical problems, interpret and communicate results to the team in a timely and efficient manner
- Prepare reports to communicate study results to internal management, external sponsors, and regulatory agencies.
- Maintain compliance with radiation safety, company/departmental policies and procedures.
- Work in environment with pharmaceuticals.
- Work in ISO classified environment under strict gowning requirement.
- May need to lift up to 65 lbs.
- Work with bodily fluids.
- Flexibility with scheduling requirements
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Sc. in organic, medicinal or radiochemistry with 3+ years of experience.
- Demonstrated ability and willingness to perform hands on work, acquire new knowledge, and learn new skills.
- Ability to function well and independently and in a fast-paced R&D environment, set priorities to accomplish multiple tasks within deadlines, and adapt quickly to ever changing needs to support current research projects in a highly focused and self-motivated manner.
- Experience with the discovery and evaluation of PET tracers, including the radiosynthesis, HPLC purification and quality control for PET imaging highly desired.
Preferred
- D. in organic chemistry with 1+ years of experience.
