Principal Accountabilities: The key responsibilities of this role are to:
The key responsibilities are:
- To routinely operate and maintain the two cyclotrons and associated systems over day and night shift.
- To maintain the Energy Centre, Workshop and Cyclotron laboratories.
- Manage raw materials throughout their lifecycle on the London site.
- Manage and participate in a range of Lab support activities.
Specific Activities:
- To initialise and operate cyclotrons daily.
- To support the cyclotron RNDS sanitisation regime.
- To diagnose faults on cyclotrons.
- To operate the ACS system.
- To ensure the Energy Centre Gas storage area is maintained and adequately stocked.
- To support control of all cyclotron vault area documentation and ensure accurate records of both environmental data and equipment condition are kept.
- To support the operation of radio-active delivery to external customers.
- To carry out maintenance and repairs as necessary.
- Management of raw materials on the London site, including but not limited to:
- Ordering
- Receipt
- Execution of Quality Control (QC) testing
- Inventory checks
- Disposal
- Management of raw material release documentation, including temporary filing on-site and preparation for archiving.
- Participating in laboratory support activities needed as part of operations, including but not limited to:
- Glassware cleaning and storage
- Laboratories waste management
- Liquid nitrogen delivery at point of use across laboratories
- Performance checks and preventative maintenance for laboratory instruments (e.g. balances, water purifiers, pH meters, fridges/freezers)
- PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) inventory management and dispatch in relevant laboratories
- To carry out other reasonable duties as requested by the line manager.Skills/Experience:
- A minimum of a degree (or equivalent) in electronics and/or mechanical engineering or related technology.
- Good understanding of GMP, with prior experience working under GMP environment desirable
- Computer literate: competent in the use of a number of applications, including elements of the Microsoft Office suite, Internet and email software.
