About the role
We are looking for an Associate Director of Radiochemistry Production to join our growing Production team. In this role, you will manage all activities and resources within Radiochemistry Production. This includes line management of a team of 5x PET Radiochemists as well as our Production Implementation team. You will ensure the team are able to fulfil daily production requirements in a safe and compliant manner in order to support clinical scanning activities and external radiopharmaceuticals demand.

This is an excellent opportunity for a trained radiochemist operating at a leadership level who is looking to take the next step in their career. While this is not a 'hands-on' position, experience & knowledge of C-11, F-18 or other PET isotopes would be very helpful.
This role is based at our London offices within the Hammersmith Hospital campus. Our London site operates a unique clinical and pre-clinical imagining centre with state-of-the-art PET and MRI technology used to support clinical research.
Key Responsibilities
- Effectively manage the Production PET Chemists and the Implementation team and ensure they are fully trained, developed and competent for their roles.
- Deputise for the Head of Clinical Chemistry, when required.
- Manage routine manufacturing activities and oversee development and validation activities to fulfil business requirements (in-house and external).
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in the Production area.
- Manage manufacturing related Quality metrics to ensure actions are not going overdue.
- Ensure the production laboratories, equipment and manufacturing methods are fully functioning and compliant and conform to Invicro standards and the appropriate regulatory standards in the UK.
- Contribute to the Clinical Chemistry team management through active participation in leadership team meetings.
- Manage distribution activities of radiotracers outside of Invicro.
- Oversee radiotracer implementation projects.
- Drive on-going review of existing processes and implement solutions to improve and consolidate operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Minimum MSc. Degree with strong experience in PET radiochemistry and process automation.
- Experience in the dispensing and shipment of radiopharmaceuticals for clinical use.
- Previous line management experience.
- Operational expertise of laboratory equipment.
- Understanding of relevant legislation and regulations.
- Knowledge of PET isotopes such as C-11 or F-18 is beneficial.
