Job purpose:
As Associate Director, Group Tax you will be responsible for complying with all relevant tax laws and regulations while optimizing the group's tax position. The role is broad and will encompass all of planning, international tax, structuring, M&A/TDD, CIT reporting and compliance including transfer pricing, as well as strategic direction and operational effectiveness of the Tax function. Although the primary scope of the role will be CIT, acting as internal consulting support on indirect and payroll taxes will also be required.
As a Group function of one, you must be self-motivated, willing to get stuck into the detail, perform the underlying work, and understand when to use advisors and when to resolve internally, balancing risk, complexity, and cost. A certain amount of commerciality and pragmatism is expected. The role will report directly to the Senior Director, Corporate Controller in the UK. They, The Perceptive executive and Private Equity investors, will look to the Associate Director, Group Tax to highlight areas of significant risk and potential opportunity, while ensuring compliance and working collaboratively across the Group.
Key Accountabilities:
Tax planning and strategy:
- Establishing a tax strategy and policies for the group, including recommending and implementing the transfer pricing policy to ensure operational effectiveness and timely recording of any transfer pricing adjustments.
- Support in any business projects such as acquisitions, divestments, internal restructuring and commercial expansion (new territories, products, markets, customers)
- Identifying any planning opportunities, tax credits, tax rate incentives, rebates, or other items to help reduce cash tax and/or increase EBITDA.
- Be the key contact with our external stakeholders for tax related matters (tax authorities, bankers, auditors, consultants, and outsourced service providers); as well as internal partners. Please expect some liaison with the consolidating functions of GLO Healthcare for the purposes of consolidated GLO Healthcare statutory and tax reporting (such as CbCR and Pillar 2) and monitoring of tax items that need to be considered on a wider group basis (such as SAO).
- Assist in the preparation of tax budget forecasting.
Tax Compliance:
- Work with advisors to ensure CIT compliance across the Group, timely filings, and management of any tax audits arising.
- Address any transfer pricing documentation requirements and work with GLO Healthcare to ensure Perceptive master file and CbCR inputs are delivered.
- Lead global tax compliance projects in order to monitor and ensure compliance with global transfer pricing policies across legal entities, including income and corporation tax computations and returns, tax balances in statutory accounts
- Create, manage, and monitor the intercompany transfer pricing allocations among the worldwide group including initiating intercompany invoicing to facilitate cash transfer between jurisdictions. Manage and comply with withholding requirements for the same.
- Monitor and assess changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure alignment with the group's strategies.
Accounting for Income Taxes:
- Responsible for financial statement preparation and disclosure of income taxes or working with advisors to achieve the same where appropriate.
- Creation of the financial statement reporting package for external auditors for income taxes.
- Tax rate and cash tax forecasting.
- Oversee the VAT and Sales Tax compliance process.
- Implement and oversee automation and streamlining of tax processes.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Significant experience in an International Tax environment, either in-house or in practice.
- A working understanding of US taxation is beneficial, as the Group is US-headed and has a significant US legal footprint. Also desirable, knowledge of the UK tax system and some exposure to European and Asian systems.
- Demonstrate experience working in a Private Equity environment, and/or M&A.
- Proven ability to manage complex relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
- Experience managing budgets and negotiating favourable financial outcomes with or for service providers commensurate with the value provided.
- Ability to provide tax advice with guidance that balances risk, technical, and commercial elements to stakeholders to assist in the decision making process.

Education:
- Accounting / Tax Qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent
- English: Fluent
