Overview

The UX Design Sr. Director (Service Design Leader) (Experience and Engagement) is a compelling designer, facilitator, and storyteller who is able to work through various mediums (digital prototyping tools, presentation design, immersive experience activations, and video) in order to create high-impact deliverables and lead engagement sessions that help business program owners to define the end user experience for the S&T core priorities. This design leader will develop a well-researched understanding of S&T core priorities and leverage that knowledge to develop engaging, user friendly and easy to use experiences across S&T core priority applications. The leader will conceptualize, co-create, design, and present engaging experiences, effectively collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams (product, business, strategy, data & analytics) to deliver value. A passion for using design to solve problems and seasoned presentation skills are a must.

Responsibilities

  • Support and execute engagement design strategy to create and scale Innovation experiences and engagements. Focus on introductory and discovery sessions (supporting Co-Creation as needed) for nascent priorities like HCM and design wireframes for more mature programs like NRM
  • Deeply understand the S&T core priorities, the inter connections and the technology solutions to effectively communicate with business teams and other stakeholders
  • Research emerging areas of opportunity (using quantitative and qualitative techniques) and transform insights into compelling story-telling, experience design, and presentations (including videos, physical installations, etc) ensuring each project deliverable is of the highest quality
  • A keen eye for distinguishing good design from great design, a good story from a great story
  • In collaboration with business stakeholders and product/process-re-engineering peers, lead discovery sessions being the voice of user experience and product design, including the facilitation of ideation and alignment as required to drive to actionable outcomes
  • Collaborate with peers to standardize engagement models, share our practice's approach, and train others on the how and the why behind the work
  • Independently and proactively manage engagements and initiatives in a white space environment
  • Strong individual contributor while being able to inspire, mentor, and guide junior staff

Compensation & Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $146,100 - $289,900
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 30% of annual salary paid out annually and an additional target payout of 15% of annual salary is paid out over 3 years following the end of the performance period
  • Long term incentive equity may be awarded based on eligibility and performance
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:


  • BA/BS in related field required, MS/MFA preferred
  • 13+ yrs experience in specialization such as user experience, design strategy, marketing activation design, interaction design, or visual and content design with willingness to broaden your own skillset into adjacent specializations while refining mastery of primary skillset
  • Ability to tackle a diverse and complex set of design challenges and recognize patterns to help develop creative, strategic, and scalable solutions for our client experience and engagement model
  • Expert in digital design software and tools including Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, InVision, AfterEffects, Figma etc
  • Proficient in front end web development HTML/JS/CSS and rapid protoyping techniques
  • Expert in creating experience maps, user journeys and service blueprints, interaction models, flows, high fidelity wireframes, and UI / visual design
  • Master facilitator with proven track record running client engagements, demonstrating excellence in presentation polish, executive presence, and client orientation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (public speaking, storytelling, presentation building skills)
  • Experience working with design systems, components, and extensible assets
  • Proven history of delivering results on time, within budget, and with high level of execution
  • A creative optimist and self-starter who brings energy and enthusiasm to the work
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
  • Desire to teach others through doing
  • CPG industry experience preferred, but not required

  • Analytical thinker, team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities
  • Must have a end-user first mentality and demonstrate maturity when interacting and leading client workshops
  • Excellent project management skills, organization, and ability to manage multiple workstreams at the same time
