Overview
Working shift: Monday to Friday, some Saturdays if needed. 5am-1pm
Purpose of Position:
This position provides technical and process knowledge for water treatment/wastewater management using microscopes, chemical tests, and other diagnostic techniques to screen the water for potentially hazardous microorganisms.
Responsibilities
- Ownership of all Microbiological testing and results interpretation; Communication to team on issues; Leading teams through troubleshooting and implementation of actions based on findings.
- Training of back up (Supervisors and leads) on Micro Testing in Tech's absence.
- Maintain, PM and Calibrate Lab and Water Room equipment (report to management which pieces of equipment are no longer being serviced by outside vendor) on a weekly, monthly and annual basis.
- Weekly Inventory, order and pay for chemicals and consumables for micro lab, quality lab and syrup room; Rotate lab chemicals as needed.
- Organize and review paperwork
- Complete weekly air samples within the processing room and document and retain records.
- Review CIP records file and maintain records.
- Manage monthly Rinse Water submissions.
- Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices with regards to micro/sanitation.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of production equipment (processing and packaging equipment) and its' related impact on overall microbiological cleanliness.
- Verify batches as needed.
- Owner - (Corporate Micro and Sensory proficiency testing, setup sensory panels and conduct in plant sensory training, and assure that we have crackers).
- Keep maintenance book updated concerning the Water Room.
- Complete monthly wastewater inspections.
- Manage sample submissions to external labs.
- Other duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits:
- The expected compensation range for this position is between $50,600 - $75,950.
- Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years prior experience preferably in a high speed manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's Degree in biological sciences preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience in quality control
- At least 1 year of laboratory experience
- Experience troubleshooting
