Responsibilities

The PepsiCo North America (PEPNA) Business Development team focuses on supporting PepsiCo's growth through external growth and partnerships. The team focuses both on developing PepsiCo North America's (NA) portfolio through acquisitions or partnerships with third-party brands and on growing PepsiCo NA's digital capabilities, working with PEP Labs, and PEP NA's value chain capabilities (e.g., Go to Market "GTM", Supply Chain) through partnerships. This entails working closely with the Operational Units (PepsiCo Beverage US and PepsiCo Food US) teams (i.e.: Strategy, Commercial, Insights) and with PEP Corporate M&A and Venture teams.

Joining the PEP NA Business Development team will enable you to experience the breadth of PEPNA's extensive portfolio and deepen your understanding of the business and industry. Priorities of the PEPNA Business Development team include the following:

  • Build the long-term enterprise M&A strategy for Food and Beverage to deliver incremental sustainable, profitable growth
  • Lead the evaluation of potential M&A targets and deliver acquisition business case
  • Lead development of external partnerships with third-party brands by identifying and building partnership opportunities
  • Work in tandem with the OU teams to identify capability gaps along the value chain and identify possible solutions (with PEP Labs for Digital solutions) to solve for it

As a Business Development Associate Manager, you will contribute to a range of critical and impactful business priorities. Responsibilities of the role may include the following:

  • Partner with Corporate M&A on due diligence process for PepsiCo Food US (PFUS), including analysis of target attractiveness, synergy assessment, and valuation
    • Analyze target business based on syndicated or other available data
    • Form a perspective on target attractiveness for PEP NA long-term growth based on synergies
  • Help lead elements of the full end-to-end lifecycle for inorganic growth opportunities including opportunity identification, lead generation, due diligence, negotiation, and deal execution
  • Help lead growth-focused strategic partnerships with companies across the North American food landscape
    • Help draw the data and identify the insights that may lead to new partnerships.
    • Wire across cross-functional partners to commercialize new partnership opportunities and maximize successful integration into the PFUS ecosystem
    • Help lead messaging and content creation for senior stakeholders
  • Work with internal cross-functional partners to assess business challenges and identify brand and technology solutions
    • Work closely with PepsiCo Venturing to build relationships with nascent startups and foster pipeline of new brands for integration into PFUS' portfolio
    • Partner with PepsiCo Labs to identify, pilot, and scale digital solutions to address business opportunities across the value chain

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $89,000 - $149,000
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 10% of annual salary paid out annually
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategy or transactional finance-related discipline (e.g., strategy consulting, investment banking, private equity, venture capital).
  • This position is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or equivalent Business degree.
  • Consumer / Food & Beverage industry knowledge (including tools knowledge - Circana) preferred.
  • 5 years of experience with a Top-tier consulting firm preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strategic thinker with superior analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills; effective verbal and written communication
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to nurture relationships with key stakeholders within and outside PepsiCo
  • Ability to both lead and collaborate with large and diverse cross-functional teams to deliver results
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and influencing skills able to impact change with senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners
  • Role is open to professionals who can work from HQ offices in Plano, TX, or Purchase, NY.
