Overview
We are currently expanding our Labvantage technical team and have a need for Sr. IT LIMS Tech Lead. As a part of the Global IT DEVSECOPS team to support the R&D Labs around the world, the Sr. IT LIMS Tech Lead role, will report directly to the Global IT DevSecOps Lead.
Will be involved in configuration, design, development and testing and deployment of the Labvantage System configuration, working close and align with our IT Solution Architect.
This role will be mainly (but not limited) in charge of:
- Gathering the requirements, analyzing and documenting the requirements and specifications, configuring them (continuous improvement), unit testing, supporting and maintenance of the LIMS (Labvantage) for the Labs. You will work closely with the LIMS implementation lead, the LIMS vendor (LabVantage), the IT team, and the laboratory SMEs to ensure that the LIMS meets the needs and expectations of the end-users and the business objectives.
- Conducting and facilitating customer workshops for information gathering and develop prototypes for business review (If necessary).
- Triage and troubleshoot incidents/issues with LIMS (Labvantage) and follow through to resolution
- Oversee and implement all upgrades and modifications to the LIMS, working in conjunction with the the IT team, vendor and Scrum team.

- Participate in all technical reviews and project meetings as requested.
- Develop system in accordance with generally recognized programming PepsiCo standards.
- Develop and review functional specifications, design specifications, test plans, test scripts, traceability matrices as defined by the project plan.
Responsibilities
Sr. IT LIMS Tech Lead's main priority are the following accountabilities/deliverables:
- Work closely with the IT Solution Architect to stay in line with business goals and ensure the delivery is aligned with PepsiCo security policies and architecture standards, the business requirements and delivery plan.
- Work closely with the Product Manager and Lab SMEs to understand their requirements for the LIMS and implement custom development projects to meet them. Also with Labs SMEs to ensure the business requirement understanding (detailed product requirements and use cases).
- Translate the business needs and user stories into functional and non-functional requirements for the LIMS, using appropriate tools and techniques such as use cases, user interface mockups, data models, and process diagrams.
- Will be responsible for updating the documentations or produce documentation that may be used inside and outside the company.
- Write periodic status progress reports.
- Meet Product Manager and Scrum Master to plan the implementation of new functionality not the LIMS, enhancements and assess impact to operations and necessary workflow changes.
- Work closely with various stakeholders for successful completion of various day-to-day LIMS tasks and ongoing support projects
- Triage and troubleshoot incidents/issues with LIMS and follow through to resolution.
- Maintain LIMS knowledge, including staying current on LIMS software capabilities and availability of new functionality and updates from the software vendor.
- Interact with software vendor (Labvantage) to resolve system issues (If needed).
- Coordinate and follow up the activities of LIMS Tech Sr. Analyst for Instrument connectivity and reports.
- This position requires flexibility with changing priorities.
- Evaluates product enhancements and capabilities, in addition to implementing upgrades as required.
Compensation & Benefits:
- The expected compensation range for this position is between $85,200 - $142,650 based on a full-time schedule.
- Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
- Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 10% of annual salary paid out annually.
- Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications
- Years of Experience
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics & Communication, scientific discipline or equivalent experience) with 4+ years of experience or Master's degree
- Practical experience (over 5 years) working a job in complex institutions
- Spanish/Portuguese - (Is a Plus)
- Experience in R&D (Research and development) - (Is a Plus)
- Knowledge in LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) - (Is a Plus)
- Tech Skills
- Safe Agile certification - (Is a Plus).
- Experience with any of the following Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS): LabVantage, LabWare, StarLIMS, Empower, Chromatography Data Systems (CDS) or Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN)- (Is a Plus)
- Azure Knowledge (Is a Plus)
- Project Methods and Tools experience.
- Experience in working with relational databases (eg: SQL, Oracle).
- Minimum of +3 years of programming experience using Java.
- Knowledge of Java development methodologies and database.
- Create and maintain system documentation.
- Experience developing formal technical specifications, configuring LIMS software and related tools and with Lab IT systems architecture and integration
- Web Application Server administration and configuration knowledge
- Non Tech Skills
- Clear communication and strong ability to work closely with others (Team player mentality) in a multicultural environment.
- Experience in a global environment, working with a geographically distributed team including in different countries/time zones is a plus is preferred.
- Strong organizational and task management skills; timely follow up
- Keen attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Availability to travel (5% a year on average)
