Overview

Provide coordination and technical support in the areas of Quality Assurance and Sanitation with an emphasis on consumer requirements, continuous product quality, productivity improvement, product safety and regulatory management. Lead a team of sanitation crew to ensure the effectiveness of line cleaning cycle and a team of line techs to ensure product quality. This position is also a back-up role to the line tech position as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee sanitation activities and lead sanitation crew to ensure line CIP's are completed effectively and timely.
  • Work with cross-functional teams for implementation of departmental master cleaning schedule.
  • Provide leadership in the identification and implementation of product and process quality improvement opportunities and resultant productivity gains.
  • Coach and motivate quality control team and other cross-functional teams to develop and attain team and plant goals. Provide training in the area of food science, food safety and regulatory requirements, and quality measurement systems to appropriate personnel.
  • Lead risk assessment analysis. Manage issues with non-conforming product to assure proper control, minimize losses and provide analysis to eliminate future occurrences.
  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the HACCP/Food Safety Plan.
  • Coordinate internal audits from scheduling through the corrective actions.

Assist in the preparation for all audits conducted by internal or external personnel. This includes FSC22000 audit, AIB audits, regulatory audits, etc.
  • Manage plant trials/protocols for ingredients, processes and materials. Coordinating activities of QA team and other plant teams, data collection, sampling and shipping requirements.
    Conduct training on changes to quality systems, procedures and testing requirements.

  • Compensation and Benefits:

    • The expected compensation range for this position is between $53,600 - $80,450.

    Qualifications

    • Must be able to train and perform all aspects of in-plant quality testing.
    • Manage the sanitation requirements including sanitation activity planning, micro sampling, documentation control and training.
    • Responsible for documentation control.
    • Responsible for other duties as assigned by Quality Manager.
    • Preferred three years of technical skills experience preferred in all areas of Quality Assurance.
    • Familiar with FDA regulations and experience in performing internal audits.
    • Clear understanding and working knowledge of Compliance Quality Systems.
    • Excellent communication and project management skills.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft business software, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Statistical Graphing Programs and Outlook.
