Overview
This position is responsible for providing operational maintenance support for Research and Development product development teams at the Plano GPCs (TPC/Process Lab). Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair food processing and site infrastructure equipment, support design/installation of new process and infrastructure equipment, maintain critical spare parts inventory, support contractor activities at the site, support site EHS programs, and participate in EHS audits
Responsibilities
Equipment
- Maintain and repair processing and facility equipment ensuring equipment reliability at Plano GPC at TPC Dallas Plant.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and intermediate electrical issues with process and facilities equipment in a timely manner to minimize downtime
- Support design, installation, and commissioning of new process and infrastructure equipment.
- Maintain Critical spare parts inventory.
- Interpret mechanical and electrical prints/schematics to independently troubleshoot related issues.
- Support Sr. Maintenance technicians in maintaining/modifying process equipment used in R&D environment as defined by project needs.
- Manage CMMS work order program.
- Perform Preventative Maintenance on R&D process development equipment.
- Support EHS initiatives - Management of Change, safety inspections and validations)

Preventative Maintenance
- Support Master PM Programs on process and infrastructure equipment.
- Maintain motors and gear boxes (oil changes) recommending repairs /replacing as needed.
- Lubricate bearings as needed per the PM program.
- Inspect drive belts, change as needed to avoid failure.
- Inspect conveyors/components and complete repairs as needed.
- Maintain oil pumps and hydraulic pumps, repair as needed.
- PM all Packaging Equipment - baggers, weighers, conveyors, cross feeders.
- PM mixers, ribbon blenders and other ingredient feeder system.
- PM food grinders and bag lifters.
Site Infra/facilities Support:
- Maintain site infrastructure equipment.
- PM Steam Generators.
- PM Air Compressors and all Pneumatic systems.
- PM Chillers units.
- PM and Maintenance of Water heaters for Sanitation use.
- PM Plant Processing /Packaging /Warehouse lighting.
- Responsible for site office area maintenance (lights, plumbing, mechanical issues).
- QA Lab and equipment maintenance (including vent hoods, air filters, pneumatic systems, online data monitoring equipment).
- Maintain Warehouse equipment (PIT, Scrubbers, Wrapping units, Scales and Trash compactors).
- Maintain Parking lot, site irrigation system, and outside lightning.
EHS Support:
- Support site EHS programs - lead/manage assigned compliance programs.
- Maintain PM program records as required to support Safety/Food Safety programs.
- Participate in Food Safety mandated Audits (AIB, FSSC22000, FDA).
- Support Food Defense Program as required.
- Prioritize site Food Safety and EHS related Work and issues to maintain compliance.
- Complete required safety, food safety, and food defense training as required.
- Support safety validation of new equipment.
- Raise MOC request as needed (new equip, equip mods, and transfers).
- Conduct safety checks on equipment transfers as needed.
- Complete training on PTW and Issue permits as needed for all contractor work in absence of EHS personnel.
Misc. Support:
- Support on site contractors (process, facilities related repairs and installations)
- Support Plano GPC operations (TPC, Process Lab)
- Engage with EHS team to understand and maintain required environmental, and regulatory compliance programs.
- Train and mentor new maintenance techs, contractors, and operators on maintenance related subjects.
Compensation and Benefits:
- The expected compensation range for this position is between $42,000 - $67,000.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma Required (preferred Associate Technical Degree) and 3+ Years of working experience in a manufacturing/production environment or in an R&D testing center, preferably in the food industry.
- Experience with food processing equipment, production, and/or test systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair food processing and site infrastructure equipment - mechanical, electrical skills and knowledge of instrumentation are required.
- Intermediate knowledge of high/low voltage circuit for electrical troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of industrial 3 phase motors and be able to program VFDs.
- Basic Knowledge of AB PLC.
- Basic knowledge of AB VFD programming and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of instrumentation used in Processing and Facilities including air flow switches, pressure switches, and thermostats.
- Ability to identify process related issues and provide solutions on maintenance related issues.
- Perform minor equipment and parts fabrication/modifications and perform minor installation work.
- Knowledge of MIG welding and stick welding.
- Highly motivated to work with others in a team environment to deliver on the team development objectives with strong desire to provide individual contribution.
- Basic Knowledge of Servo Motors and troubleshooting.
- Flexible - willingness to work off-shifts and weekends. Willingness to flex between work sites (Dallas Technology Process Center and Plano Process Lab).
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work safely in an industrial environment.
- Team player, flexibility, mechanical aptitude, work with limited supervision, self-starter, written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills required.
