Overview

The Quality Control Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring that PepsiCo's products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. This role is responsible for maintaining cost efficiency, driving continuous process improvements, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols within the business unit. You will lead a team of Quality Technicians, establish, and enforce quality assurance standards, and align the organization to consistently achieve these standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-depth technical knowledge and guidance on processes such as water treatment, wastewater management, product, and packaging testing, and evaluating supplier capabilities.
  • Possess a strong understanding of production equipment, including processing and packaging machinery, and its impact on product quality.
  • Supervise the implementation of key food safety programs, including GMP compliance, sanitation, documentation, recordkeeping, and preparation for regulatory audits.
  • Stay informed about the latest process improvements and technical advancements, applying this knowledge to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Build and develop the team's capabilities through effective employee relations, training, and mentorship, enabling them to address operational issues and meet performance goals.
  • Responsible for QC scheduling (lab techs, Batchers, utilities personals) and maintaining an optimum team size to perform the jobs on daily basis.
  • Develop and lead cross-functional teams to address day-to-day operational issues and meet both short- and long-term performance goals.
  • Lead a team of hourly associates, driving performance in sanitation, quality, and food safety, and motivating them to achieve regulatory and organizational goals.
  • Lead business changes effectively while minimizing the impact on team members.
  • Work closely with other departments to resolve operational issues and achieve organizational objectives.
  • Inspire and motivate team members to reach production and quality goals.
  • Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and food safety regulations, including overseeing regulatory audits and inspections (e.g., AIB, FDA, ISO F2200 Standard, GHEMS).
  • Maintain a regular and active presence on the plant floor, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • This role involves occasional lifting (up to 40 lbs) and may require working in challenging weather conditions. Occasional forklift operation and off-shift work, including weekends, may be required.
  • Apply knowledge of TPM processes, equipment, and system capabilities to meet facility standards in filler room.
  • Set and achieve performance standards for safety, line utilization, and quality, while tracking key performance indicators and costs to anticipate and correct trends that could compromise financial targets.
  • Oversee facility equipment to ensure reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Build team capabilities through effective employee relations, hiring, training, and communication with frontline hourly personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, administering policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Maintain a consistent presence on the plant floor, occasionally operating manufacturing equipment to ensure smooth operations.
  • Sanitation and Safety Management: Oversee the Sanitation Team and manage food safety systems across the site, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and internal standards (OSHA, Environmental protection local authorities).
  • Audit Leadership: Involved internal and external audits, maintaining and updating the site's Food Safety plan, and ensuring that all food safety requirements are met.
  • Training and Development: Train and develop leaders and frontline staff on food safety protocols and processes, facilitating continuous improvement.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $64,300 - $107,650.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 8% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Bio sciences, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food technology, Food science, Chemical engineering, Engineering, business, operations management, or a related field. Or an experienced individual having Food/Beverage background.
  • Experience: At least 2 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a quality control role within a high-speed manufacturing environment (food/beverages/consumer packaged goods).
  • Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, provide and receive constructive feedback, lead a team-based approach to decision-making, and work effectively in a challenging environment.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop team members, combined with effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team-building abilities.
