QC Micro Technician

Responsibilities

  • Manages the plant level micro testing program.
  • Possesses knowledge of process sanitation including CIP and external surface cleaning
  • Possesses knowledge of and manages the current Master Sanitation SOP Program
  • Participates and assists with plant AIB audits.
  • Capable of running projects up to and including modification of cleaning practices and line qualifications
  • Trains QC technicians on the proper aseptic technique of obtaining micro samples for pre- and post-line sanitation using ATP micro swabs and Redi micro swabs.
  • Provides support and statistical quality data for the entire plant e.g. ( Runs Bi-weekly micro meeting , Rinse-waters, Marathons data , ATP, Air Samples etc. )
  • Performs environmental sampling and testing per the QC Micro Sampling Plan using aseptic technique in the following areas: Air, water, product and non-product contact surfaces.
  • Performs micro sampling and micro readings of all micro plates of sucrose, plant water, filler rinse water, and air sampling.
  • Possesses operational knowledge of micro equipment.
  • Coordinates sanitation projects such as acid wash of sucrose silos, and sucrose batch delivery lines
  • Participates in TPM Drum Beats as part of the QC team.
  • Ensures HACCP compliance.
  • Ensures compliance to GMP guidelines.
  • Ensures compliance to AIB standards.
  • Trains Quality Technicians on basic micro and sanitation skills
  • Assists in researching process records regarding critical quality issues.
  • Reviews process records and process records database for out of spec quality values prior to product release process
  • Performs micro sampling under aseptic conditions and train QC technicians to acquire the same skill.
  • Creates Standard Operating Procedures for QC lab equipment and testing procedures.
  • Assist with root cause analysis of consumer complaints.
  • In depth knowledge of the hot fill process PCQI III Qualified , Food Defense Awareness

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $42,000 - $67,000.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree preferred but not required
  • Two or more years of experience in Quality Control
  • Demonstrate understanding of Quality Control processes including aseptic and sterile techniques.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point, and a Warehouse Management System.
  • Must work and participate effectively in a team environment
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Timely and effective verbal and written communications.
  • Highly self-motivated with excellent prioritization and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, internally and externally, to all levels of management.
  • Overtime required as dictated by business needs
