Overview

Perform required microbiological testing and ensure compliance to all PepsiCo standards. Work closely with the production team to provide quality support for all tasks performed, but not limited to production releases, product testing, raw material inspection, finished goods inspection, sanitation inspection, troubleshooting guidance, and innovations.

Responsibilities

  • This position involves a combination of visually monitoring various aspects of plant operations, or physically obtaining samples and testing in the Q.C. Lab
  • Monitoring quality parameters may include process times and temperatures
  • Trained to conduct sanitation inspections ensuring compliance to sanitation policies and procedures
  • Perform micro-testing: collection and plating micro samples
  • Assist in the maintenance of the hold area
  • Conduct sensory analysis of finished products
  • Continuously improve plant GMPs through regular audits of the plant
  • Attention to details in regard to procedures, quality testing, and line audits
  • Conduct food safety audits as assigned
  • Enter data into spreadsheets and the Infinity data collection system
  • Ensure compliance to oPRPs, PRPs, CCP, and PCs
  • Must be able to troubleshoot quality issues
  • Perform all required microbiological testing on rinse water and finished product
  • Complete all required surface, air, water, rinse water, and finished product, microbiological testing requirements
  • Complete any additional plating/sampling required due to process deviations or upsets
  • Compile and review all production records necessary for finished product release
  • Conduct trainings with front-line employees regarding quality topics/issues
  • Lab equipment management and maintenance
  • Update production records and documents as necessary
  • General upkeep and maintenance/cleanliness of the Micro Lab
  • Follow process guidelines and expedite quality concerns to management
  • Work with production/maintenance as necessary
  • Keep daily records tests performed and results
  • Maintain a professional approach and appearance while performing job tasks
  • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance

Compensation & Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $42,600 - $68,050.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
  • Paid time off in accordance with policy is subject to eligibility and includes vacation, holiday, sick, bereavement and parental leave.
  • Vacation: for eligible full-time employees, a minimum of 15 paid vacation days.
  • Holidays: for eligible full-time employees, the company provides 10 paid holidays annually.
  • Sick Leave: for eligible full-time employees, 10 days (80 hours) of paid sick leave benefits are available for absences related to non-job-related injury. Sick leave benefit will be accrued during your first year at 1 day for each month worked in that calendar year.
  • Bereavement Leave: In the event of a death of an immediate family member, full-time and part-time regular employees are eligible to receive up to three (3) consecutive working days with pay.
  • Parental Leave: for eligible employees, the company offers paid parental leave for up to 6 weeks to allow for a time of bonding with their newborn or newly adopted child.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree w/ experience with microbiology preferred
  • Food Manufacturing experience
  • Must have good organization and documentation skills
  • Understands written procedures
  • Complete calculations and conversions
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work both independently and in a team-oriented atmosphere
  • Good communication with strong problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel, Work, and PowerPoint
  • Must be flexible with work schedule that includes the potential to work nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed
