Responsibilities

The Key Account Manager Designate (KAM-D) for Retail Sales contributes to Frito Lay's success by executing a selling strategy in Independent Business across the Atlantic Region. The intent of this Designate role is to provide candidates the opportunity to learn to be part of the customer team and develop retail capabilities over a 12 month time period, ultimately growing into a KAM position. Successful candidates will manage key customer relationships including negotiating customer agreements that deliver against internal operating plans while successfully delivering against the customer's expectations. The KAM-D must develop strategic account plans in order to create sales proposals yielding profitable account development and growth. Further, this person must prepare and conduct quarterly internal presentations to ensure senior management alignment on plans and strategies.

  • Location: Greater Baltimore/Washington DC Area
  • Atlantic Region Independent Business accounts and GPM Investments
  • Represent entire portfolio of PFNA owned brands while assisting the ACDMs/DOS in successfully delivering annual volume, net revenue, share, Key Performance Indicators (KPI), and profit plan
  • Lead ACDMs to complete on-going analysis and review of business trends to identify gaps to plan and execution
  • Lead annual operating plan & forecast process, collaborating with Finance, Business Units and Business Development Manager
  • Ensure accounts maintain a strategic product mix through SKU optimization -- both new item sell-in and/or SKU reduction
  • Develops winning partnerships with customer and with internal PepsiCo stakeholders by influencing and penetrating multiple levels within both organizations
  • Collaborate on Better Together activity with Pepsi Beverages North America, Gatorade, and Quaker.
  • Work closely with Field Sales to ensure strong communication and execution of customer programs
  • Wire with customer Field Operation teams & Frito Lay Field sales team to drive plus up opportunities of the customer HQ plans
  • Build customer selling capability with Frito Lay field sales organization
  • Create fact-based presentations to support selling efforts at both corporate and retail level
  • Learn how to interact cross-functionally with business partners such as demand planning, supply chain, finance, category management, and shopper marketing to ensure delivery of key initiatives
  • Learn aspects of the business necessary to lead strategic accounts such as JBP process, TPM management, checkbook discipline, forecasting, calendar planning, merchandising, line reviews, space/sku optimization, gap planning, shopper marketing.
  • Ability to travel ~35% of the time
  • Must be willing and able to lift 40 lbs. periodically

Compensation & Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $72,500 - $121,300 based on a full-time schedule
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 15% of annual salary paid out annually
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of fact-based selling experience
  • Consumer packaged goods experience in a Direct Store Delivery environment
  • Highly motivated individual with excellent communication, negotiation, influencing, and follow up skills
  • Proven leadership capability with a track record of leading and influencing large multi-level teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • This position is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States
