HR Coordinator

Overview

Provide HR support for the Cedar Rapids Quaker Oats facility. The HR Coordinator role will partner with and support 900+ employees ensuring HR systems are updated and accurate while supporting the HR team on critical projects in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Visitor Support: Greet and direct all HR traffic. Assist visitors including escorting, handling product donation requests/pickups, assisting interview candidates, pulling together requests for products/information/Quaker memorabilia.
  • HRIS: Responsible for timely and accurate processing of all transactions, including new hires, transfers, promotions, terminations. Responsible for data entry and verification into various Quaker systems (e.g: Focal Point, Bonus tool, SAP, My P&D).
  • Client Support: Assist employees in the resolution of payroll and benefit issues. Interface with SAP and Kronos for payroll and benefit issues, Interface with PLCC and provide updates on LOAs; Maintain HR files and ensure SOX compliance; Gathers and maintains routine periodic data for reporting; Maintains accuracy of organizational charts, handles org announcements and bereavement notifications.
  • Talent Acquisition: Responsible for all hourly and salaried hiring and the orientation process for all new employees.
  • Other: Prepare special ad hoc reports which may include confidential spreadsheets with advanced calculations, data from various Quaker and PepsiCo systems; Prepare high-impact PowerPoint presentations, Coordinate meetings, including onsite and offsite room scheduling, catering, distribution of materials; Receive and screen phone calls, answering routine questions and requests for information from Senior Leaders. Order and maintain office equipment and supplies. Creates and posts QETV slides; Daily mail run including sorting/distribution and mass mailing projects; Handle request for employment verifications; Distribute raffle tickets/product and promotional items handled through HR; Put together new hire orientation/onboarding materials; Run photo copy projects large and small; Log grievances into database and handle discipline letters, Updates to job descriptions and pay models; send plant-wide emails; serve as the site lead to the Employee Activities Committee; other duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $42,000 - $67,000 based on a full-time schedule.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED; college degree required.
  • 2-4 years HR experience / Bachelor's degree in HR related field strongly preferred.
  • SAP knowledge preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, administrative and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software.
  • Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize multiple activities and multiple managers.
  • High sense of urgency.
  • Ability to handle extremely sensitive and confidential information.
