The Manager for Global Packaging Digital Coordination in Foods R&D will report into the Sr. Manager for Packaging Digital Transformation to envision the future and design the 'to be' business processes and Ways of Working of the Packaging developers. More specifically the Manager will manage processes as it relates to Foods PKG R&D's Digital Systems, including existing Spec Systems and Data Governance. Candidate will also collaborate with internal cross functional partners to make sure their specific data needs are addressed and synergies are realized where possible. They will also assist in the integration of the design and configuration of the Dassault 3DX platform. They will use knowledge of existing systems and processes to create new Packaging Development Plans guiding users in digitization of existing and new project data objects.

Responsibilities

  • Function as Global Foods Digital Coordinator and Data Steward ensuring digital assets (e.g. specification data, test methods, classifications) are consistent, and compliant with PepsiCo's Project Global Template
  • Coordinate Regional Packaging Teams specification needs with Global Spec Coordination and Spec Coordination services (GBS) through regular region team connects.
  • Will be main point of contact and approver for specification system change requests.
  • Work with cross functional partners in Product R&D, Supplier Qualification, Supply Chain and Commercialization to ensure data structures and reporting meet business needs.
  • Gather KPIs and feedback to drive continuous improvement of our digital packaging systems to deliver more accurate, complete and traceable digital reporting.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $85,200 - $142,650 based on a full-time schedule.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
  • Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 10% of annual salary paid out annually.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

  • Must have experience in the development and execution of primary, secondary and tertiary packaging materials and have knowledge of the interrelationship with measurement & test methods associated with the specification of these components.
  • Must be a subject matter expert in specification or digital asset systems and the management of the systems they touch, such as SAP.
  • Strong project management skills in developing project timelines with multiple cross-functional touch points, and managing project budgets, in addition to tracking of spend
  • Must have strong analytical, and technical skills with excellent communication, reporting and presentation skills.
  • Must be able to drive digital innovation and understand complex data repository structures and the methods that data is created, updated and archived.
  • Maintain open communication and build strong relationships with internal & external teams.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills
  • Analytical & creative thinking to drive process and system improvements leveraging the latest digital tools.
  • Must understand technical stage gate process and package development timelines
  • 10-25% travel
  • BS in Packaging Science, Chemical, Mechanical, Plastics Engineering or equivalent
  • 5-10 years' work experience within food/beverage packaging

  • Knowledge of working with Agile software methodology
  • Knowledge of Packaging development processes
  • Excellent networking skills, building cross-functional and external networks to deliver goals and objective of the team and organization
  • Experience of operationalizing PLM components such as spec management systems
  • Able to manage multiple priorities
  • Creative and innovative thinking to facilitate ideas generation cross functionally as well as having a design thinking and agile mindset
  • Ability to develop and execute partnerships with small and large externals to enable advancement in the Digital space
  • Results-driven, flexible, adaptable, positive "can-do" attitude, taking on new and complex challenges with energy and enthusiasm.
