The Flavor and Taste Technology function at PepsiCo is an integral part of the company's sugar reduction, innovation and product development efforts. The Flavor and Taste Technology team is responsible for driving sugar reduction and innovation for multiple billion-dollar beverage brands. This team includes Flavor Technologists, Sweetener Technologists, and Flavorist who focus on delivering against global and regional beverages.

Responsibilities
- Lead global and regional projects to drive the development, application, and commercialization of taste modification technology in support of Pepsi's global beverage business growth.
- Lead Flavor Technology function to maintain a competitive edge for Pepsi by developing breakthrough technology flavors to enable great-tasting naturally and/or artificially sweetened reduced calorie, low, and no-calorie products.
- Interface and build strategic networks and effective working relationships with vendors.
- Provide technical expertise and support to other functional groups within the company such as Quality, Commercialization Engineers, Product Development, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Sensory and Regulatory
- Role model for teamwork, building relationships within the Taste Technology Team and across all partners
Critical Competencies:
- Understanding of flavors with modification properties/taste modification technology, focusing on creating flavor systems which enhances, or improve taste. Become proficient with taste modification tools as they relate to performance, cost, regulatory, etc.
- Lead the evaluation and in defining the feasibility of global modifier technology and tools.
- Strong technical and creative flavor background with emphasis on experience in flavor creation and technology. Proven track record in flavor creation, commercialization, and hands-on bench capability
- Results oriented with the ability to manage, balance and prioritize multiple project initiatives to meet business objectives
- Contribute to and foster a technically focused and creative environment to build PepsiCo's competitive advantage
- Experienced in multi-functional teams that are focused on multiple technology pathways
- Role model for teamwork, building relationships within the Taste Technology Team and across all partners
- Understand implications of flavor design across entire system and incorporate quality principles in work processes and output to deliver development initiatives with a total system mindset
- Highly motivated with the demonstrated ability to work independently
- Strong organizational, project management, leadership, with verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships cross-functionally both internally and externally

Compensation & Benefits:
- The expected compensation range for this position is between $114,700 - $192,100.
- Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
- Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 15% of annual salary paid out annually.
- Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications
- B.S./M.S./PhD in Chemistry, Food Science or related discipline with a minimum of 9 years of experience working with flavor raw materials, ingredients and creating flavors in the flavor and food industry
- Certified Flavor Chemist preferred
- A proven track record in flavor development and hands-on bench capability
- Successful creation and commercialization of flavors: extracts, emulsions and blends; In depth knowledge of essential oils and Nat. and Art. Raw materials
- Outstanding teamwork, communication, and leadership skills
