About the Role: Controls Engineer

As a Controls Engineer, you'll provide leadership and technical expertise to production and maintenance teams, ensuring efficient operations and compliance with PepsiCo standards. You'll coordinate resources, troubleshoot systems, and drive innovative solutions for electrical, programming, and hardware challenges across the facility

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Support: Troubleshoot and provide analysis for Allen Bradley, Rockwell, and other control equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Systems Management: Maintain plant software and hardware systems, including Rockwell equipment, Wonderware Systems, Ethernet systems, and inventory of testing equipment.
  • Project Leadership: Specify, bid, select, and procure equipment for assigned projects while supervising contractors and maintenance mechanics to ensure timely completion.
  • Documentation and Compliance: Manage plant electrical power, control, and programming systems, ensuring updated documentation aligns with PepsiCo and regulatory standards.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Lead projects that optimize electricity usage to support PepsiCo's environmental goals.
  • Training and Mentorship: Train operators and mechanics on new equipment and systems while mentoring the team in troubleshooting and programming.
  • Continuous Improvement: Engage in TPM initiatives and provide technical expertise to improve operational performance and reduce downtime.

Capital Projects: Prepare Capital Appropriation Requests, monitor project budgets, and deliver successful implementations

Qualifications

Candidate Profile

  • Technical Degree Preferred: Strong electrical background is highly desired.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years in plant electrical applications, including Wonderware, A-B PLC's & Drives, Ethernet communications, and HMI programming.
    • Robust project management experience in planning, scheduling, and execution, including process, packaging, or machine design.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Strong organizational skills for maintaining and upgrading software and programming systems.
    • Knowledge of PepsiCo, NEC, NFPA, and local standards for electrical systems and documentation.
    • Ability to manage sustainability initiatives to reduce electricity usage.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a self-starter mentality.
    • Strong interpersonal communication, leadership, and mentoring capabilities.
