The purpose of the LD&T Asst Analyst is to source and secure common carrier capacity that meets the needs of our internal and external customer requirements at a rate and service level that meets or exceeds business goals. The role must effectively build long term strategic relationships with a variety of carriers and be resourceful to find incremental capacity as needed by the business in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

This position needs to be able to balance customer expectations, employee resources, market volatility, and cost simultaneously to drive excellent service and profitability. Additionally, this role needs to showcase excellent interpersonal communication skills and leadership capabilities.

Scope:

The role must be able to effectively cover at least 15-20 loads per day. This position also must maintain close contact with at least 15 different asset-based carriers to support business needs within a defined geography.

Responsibilities

  • Strong working knowledge of strategic carriers' daily capacity and network
  • Strong working knowledge of customers' supply chain, requirements, and new initiatives (achieve favorable service perception)
  • Responsible for all carrier prospecting, management, negotiations, and relations leading to long-term partnerships.
  • 24/7 escalation and accountability for carrier development execution and contribution to the overall brokerage AOP
  • Support key brokerage SOPS and Protocols
  • Full control of mitigating carrier costs via short-term and long-term contractual obligations
  • Participate in on-call, after hours and weekend duties as determined based on business needs.

Scope Scope of Interactions:

  • 80% External - New and existing asset-based carriers
  • 20% Internal - Collaboration with business development, account management, and leadership teams

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this position is between $50,600 - $75,950 based on a full-time schedule.
  • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
  • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

  • Ability to effectively interact and build a favorable business relationship with all carriers and customers.
  • Ability to influence a carrier to provide capacity during all supply / demand cycles.
  • Drive for results to excel at capacity management and load coverage in a variety of scenarios.
  • Ability to learn key freight brokerage market dynamics and industry best practices.
  • Ability to learn brokerage pricing techniques and tools to effectively secure capacity at optimal rates.
  • Effective at negotiation
  • Strong team player and committed to teamwork in all situations.
  • Willingness to support account management and customer service tasks
  • Has "Whatever it takes" attitude.
