Overview
PepsiCo is seeking a Brand Communications Manager to help promote and protect the reputation of the PepsiCo Foods US portfolio of iconic brands.
This role will contribute to the business by developing high-impact strategic communications plans, project management and execution, earned media / influencer strategy and engagement, and agency and budget management.
The Brand Communications Manager will drive awareness for and build equity in assigned brands for PepsiCo Foods US (PFUS) in close partnership with the marketing organization as well as a multitude of stakeholders from other PepsiCo functions and external partners.
This role reports into the Director of Brand Communications, Growth Portfolio and can be based in Plano, Texas or Chicago, Illinois.

Responsibilities
- Serve as communications advisor to PFUS marketing team(s) on external communications initiatives
- Develop communications plans that leverage creative ideas, earned media and influencers to support new campaigns, innovation launches, and other brand priorities
- Build media relations strategies, strengthen relationships with key members of the media and pitch brand marketing stories
- Measure programming against set goals and contribute to effective and efficient reporting to key stakeholders
- Support crisis and issues communications, as needed
- Provide thoughtful and timely review of external social media, influencer content, partnerships and sponsorships for potential reputational issues
- Partner with Internal Communications teammates on employee engagement efforts to build internal advocates for programming
- Regularly liaise and collaborate with PepsiCo brand and corporate communications team members as well as cross-functional stakeholders
- Liaise with cross-functional stakeholders related to PFUS business and communication priorities
- Stay informed of key issues and trends impacting the company and industry as well as current events that may impact programming
- Oversee and manage the work of agency teams, ensuring flawless execution, rigorous measurement and resources
- Manage other projects and programs as assigned.
Compensation & Benefits:
- The expected compensation range for this position is between $106,400 - $178,100.
- Location, confirmed job-related skills, experience, and education will be considered in setting actual starting salary. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
- Bonus based on performance and eligibility target payout is 12% of annual salary paid out annually.
- Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University, preferably with focus on Communications/Journalism/PR required.
- 7+ years of PR experience managing brand communications in a fast-moving consumer goods category preferred (agency or large corporate entity)
- Strong media relations skills including strategic planning and the ability to story-mine and pitch top-tier reporters
- Strong expertise in navigating influencer/talent/partnership programming and protocols
- Strong understanding of social media, including new and emerging channels and analytics
- Excellent oral and written communications skills - including presentations and media materials - and an ability to develop materials under tight timelines
- Unique experiences that demonstrate creative instinct, passion for marketing and deep consumer empathy
- Proven track record of driving successful, insight-based, high-impact creative communications programs that deliver against brand business objectives, on time and within budget
- Proven ability to interact with, manage, and influence cross-functional teams and agency partners, and work in a matrixed environment
- Travel 10% of the time
