Responsibilities

Functional Description:

The goal of Frito-Lay's Engineering program is to provide students with the opportunity to leverage their academic understanding in a real-world, business-driven environment. You will have an opportunity to work on and manage a variety of different projects as well as leverage relationships and partner with leaders from our manufacturing plants. Our organization is based in Plano, Texas.

What you can expect:

Associate Project Engineer - Frito Lay Plano, TX HQ On-Site Full Time Position

In this role, you will be called upon to manage and solve engineering problems:

  • The role will be multifaceted and driven off a foundation of our project management life cycle phases including Initiating / Planning / Execution / Monitoring / Closing.
  • Be accountable for developing and executing scopes of work, cost management, commercialization schedules, risk management and performance criteria.
  • Lead and support cross-functional internal teams and external resources, such as vendors and consultants, to develop, design and execute capital and expense projects or programs.
  • Apply engineering principles, modeling, data analytics and simulations within projects or programs.
  • Define manufacturing, warehousing, infrastructure, controls and automation for unit operation and system requirements for project scopes.
  • Develop and execute work plans to identify technologies and vendors able to achieve the unit operation and system performance requirements.
  • Develop and utilize technology, process validation tools, models, and simulations.
  • Create specifications and validation plans for full scale sourcing, factory inspection plans, factory acceptance tests and equipment and/or production line commissioning, qualification & validation.
  • Develop feasibility, concept, design, funding, installation, I/O checkout, engineering test runs, commissioning and post start up support while partnering and managing contractors and vendors.
  • Be accountable for inputs into annual operating plans, budget management, forecasting, cashflow, schedule attainment, and achievement of performance metrics.
  • Develop innovative and cost-effective ways to source and commercialize new processes, new technologies, and automation for new products, new packaging solutions and new warehousing solutions.

Being able to manage multiple projects and competing priorities to deliver business and people results.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • The expected compensation range for this role based on a full-time schedule is $64,600 - $87,000
  • Role, degree discipline, degree level, and location are part of the process when determining actual starting salary for positions.
  • Compensation for our campus hires is pre-determined and non-negotiable.
  • In addition to salary, PepsiCo offers a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees and their families, subject to elections and eligibility: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Health and Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Insurance (Accident, Group Legal, Life), Defined Contribution Retirement Plan. Paid time off is subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications

What we're looking for:

  • Currently pursuing an Engineering degree in: Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Highly motivated self-starters.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to work in an unstructured environment with the ability to make tradeoff decisions quickly.
  • Ability to work on small, medium, and large projects and manage time and effort without need for constant supervision.
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Ability to lead a team-based approach to decision making.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, challenging environment.
  • Experience with statistical modeling and developing reporting tools.
  • Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team building skills.
  • Strong communication skills to work with all levels of the organization from Field colleagues, cross-functional colleagues, and to corporate Executives.
  • Proven problem-solving skills.

Minimum Qualifications - Each candidate is expected to:

  • This position is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States
  • Be completing their final year of undergraduate studies
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree prior to the intended full time start date
  • Hold a GPA of 2.75 or higher
