ABOUT THE ROLE

Peloton is looking for a Software Engineer on our E-Commerce team to help scale Peloton's
$1+ billion e-commerce channel. This Software Engineer will be responsible for growing and
driving the technical roadmap of innovative features by partnering with your peers in product
management, design, marketing, member support, international teams, etc. You should have a
passion for the technical and operational excellence, and relentlessly championing best
practices in a continuously evolving and dynamic environment.

● Help to evolve our platform to best in class by providing guidance to the teams in terms
of technical strategy and excellency.
● Write understandable, testable code with an eye towards maintainability, scalability and
performance.
● Drive cross-team dependencies and design docs to help promote a culture of learning
and constant improvement.
● Partner with stakeholders to identify technical trade-offs and to make informed technical
and product decisions.
● Collaborate with other software engineers by taking part in pair programming and
leading white boarding solutions, team discussions, and task breakdown etc.


YOU BRING TO PELOTON
● 4+ years of software development experience.
● Shown experience with Spring Boot (or Spring), Java, Postgres, AWS, GraphQL,
Docker, Kubernetes.
● Have experience with Next, React and Typescript.
● Strong product and technical mindset.
● Ability to contribute consistently and positively in a high-paced, fast-changed
environment.
● Passionate about technology, new ideas, and always willing to learn new things.
● Analytical and creative problem solver, with the flexibility to accommodate evolving
business needs.
● Expert understanding of object-oriented and/or functional programming design
principles.
● Good understanding of Agile, Lean, DevOps, and SRE principles.
● Acute attention to detail and dedication to quality.
● Have experience working within e-commerce.
● 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design
patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
● 1+ years of experience in the financial services industry, e-commerce, credit card and
payment related product operations.
● Have experience integrating and deploying to run cloud infrastructure (AWS or
GCP).
● Have experience with microservices architecture and the backend-for-frontend pattern.
● Are able to take a project from scoping requirements through actual execution and
delivery.
● Attend meetups, conferences, and participate in the software engineering community.
● Contribute to open-source projects.
● Have experience migrating a monolithic system to an ecosystem of microservices.
● Have experience with or knowledge of TDD, DDD, CQRS and Event Sourcing.
● Worked on a system that had to deal with internationalization and localization.

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position based at our New York City headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes. Base Salary Range
$136,300$177,300 USD
