Position Summary

As the Sr. Manager of Data Engineering and Reporting Infrastructure at PCORI, you will elevate our data-driven decision-making capabilities by overseeing the design, development, and execution of cutting-edge reporting and data products. You will lead a team in building and optimizing solutions that will enable cross-functional teams to harness the power of data, transforming it into actionable insights that shape business strategy, product innovation, and operational efficiency. By driving enterprise data innovation, you will enhance our use of advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning to meet PCORI's most important objectives. This role will be pivotal in advancing our data lake and cloud transformation journey.

What you will do:
• Drive Strategic Roadmap: You'll manage the strategic vision and best practices for Business Intelligence, Data Engineering and Analytical Insights, ensuring collaboration with business, product, and tech partners to deliver value with innovative, standardized solutions.
• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Partner with business units, technology leaders and product teams to create actionable Data Automation and Business Intelligence products, offering advanced analytics, visualization, data delivery and reporting to inform key decisions.
• Implement Data Solutions: Identify and drive the implementation of Enterprise Data, Business Intelligence, and Analytic solutions across multiple products and initiatives, advancing the organization's capabilities.
• Enable Data Science and AI: You'll deliver world class enterprise data and analytics by automating insights generated from data science, machine learning, and AI to drive innovation.
• Enable Performance Metrics and KPIs: Automate frameworks that enable leadership to gain clear insights into business and product performance, operational readiness, and the enterprise's key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Enhance Operational Excellence: Drive Business Intelligence initiatives that improve operational efficiencies, utilizing data operations managed services and continuous improvement.
• Communicate Insights: Create and share metrics and visualizations that communicate the current state of the business, while also identifying actionable insights for improvement or optimization.
• Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team: Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and training to build a motivated and competent team, conducting timely performance reviews to foster growth.

Required Skills
• Effective communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills.
• Familiarity with enterprise architecture standards and practices used to guide technical decision making.
• Ability to manage multiple large scale, strategic projects and effectively triage priorities consistent with an organization's strategy and goals.
• Experience driving business outcomes.
• Experience driving enterprise reporting insights solution in Cloud based environments such as Azure or AWS
• Experience leveraging data and analytics tools, platforms, and technologies such as Tableau, Power BI, R, Python, SQL etc.
• Leadership skills that can help develop a highly motivated and competent team within Enterprise Data and analytics.
• Experience developing products or product ownership using Agile methodologies.
• Experience leading engineering teams and mentoring.
• Experience integrating Data Science, AI, and ML into business intelligence and analytical insights.
• A leader with a strong background in big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), and you have led the teams to build large-scale data architectures with high volume and low latency

Required Experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Applied Mathematics or equivalent work or educational experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in enterprise data engineering
• Minimum 3 years of experience in business intelligence
• Minimum 3 years of people leader experience data & analytics technology

Compensation and Benefits

Salary Range: $125,000 - $150,000

The above range represents the salary range expected for the position; however, final offers are based on several factors such as the position's responsibilities; the candidate's experience, education, and skills; location; travel required; and current market conditions.

Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may participate in PCORI-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee's eligible dependents.
