Position Summary
The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) is offering a Virtual Spring Internship to a qualified candidate who will support the DIGITAL Data Infrastructure & Service Support team. This paid internship is a part-time, temporary employment opportunity averaging 20 - 30 hours per week for a postgraduate student or PhD candidate. PCORI does not provide housing for out-of-town residents. All applicants must be eligible to work in the US and located in the US. Pay Range and Employment Status:
Interns shall be classified as temporary employees who are hired as interim replacements, to temporarily supplement the workforce, or to assist in the completion of a specific project and who are temporarily scheduled to work for a limited duration. Employment beyond any initially stated period does not in any way imply a change in employment status. Temporary workers are not eligible for PCORI benefits.
Current master's level and above students will be paid $20.00 per hour.
The DIGITAL - Data Infrastructure & Program Support department is seeking an intern who will have the opportunity to:
- Participate in a project that organizes and prepares unstructured and semi structured data sources for Ingestion in to a data lake by identifying data field values within the source document and designing logic for data extraction. It also creates technical documentation for Azure Synapse Analytics environment and the objects within. Scripts in pipelines, views, functions, and procedures will also be documented with script comments and flow diagrams.
- Gain exposure to teamwork and practice Scrum in a professional environment.
- Gain experience with Azure environment more specifically to Azure Synapse Analytics and Azure DevOps
- Build skills in Data Processing and Data Warehouse/Lake house development with SQL and python.

Required Skills
The Data and Technology Infrastructure and Solutions team is seeking an intern that will meet the following requirements:
- Database Development, Data Engineering, Data analytics, and Business Intelligence with hands on experience in SQL & Python.
- Basic understanding of Common Expression, JSON & XML.
Required Experience
Ideal candidates will be pursuing their postgraduate education in one of the following areas: Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.
