Location:             Reno, NV

Schedule:            Sunday-Thursday, 3:30 pm – 12:30 am

General Summary

As the Patagonia Swing Shift Operations Manager in our Reno Service Center, you will lead and support multiple functional departments on the Swing shift. You serve as a leader and point of contact for the Shipping team, and also for indirect leadership of Receiving, Repairs, Inventory Control and Facilities. Key focus areas include shift communication, supporting the unique needs of the Swing shift teams, and representing the Swing shift business to the Patagonia organization. As a member of the warehouse leadership team, you work with peers to ensure service goals are met across the multiple departments.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and coordinate production and service levels for all Swing shift departments at the Reno Service Center.
  • Partner with leadership peers to influence good change in the warehouse through proven change management and decision-making practices.
  • Develop good processes and communication with all Service Center Departments to facilitate the flow of work through related channels.
  • Be a champion for employee equity by ensuring and managing access to professional development, opportunities for promotion, and pay increases.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the showing of company meetings and townhalls, implement warehouse events/programs on swing, and communicate company messaging to all swing departments.  
  • Model and lead Patagonia’s Mission around our planet and our people. Ensure your team gives balance to production needs and to actions that support our people and our planet.
  • Create strong interdepartmental partnerships to achieve critical business objectives and ensure clear and consistent communication.  
  • Use metrics to monitor and improve department results, forecast labor and staffing needs, and operate within assigned budget parameters.
  • Work closely with IT to stay current on technological improvements while representing the business needs of the department.
  • Write and present quarterly and annual employee check-ins as part of the overall performance management process. 
  • Handle employee relations within the department and in partnership with Human Resources partners.
  • Demonstrate emotional intelligence, humility, cultural competence, feedback skills, and the ability to sustain trusted relationships with a wide array of people.
  • Participate in hiring and training of new team members.

The Experience You Bring

  • 5-Plus years of experience leading large teams in a progressive, collaborative work environment
  • Proven track record of supporting customer and employee needs in an eComm, Wholesale, or Retail setting
  • Skilled at Microsoft Office products, payroll systems, customer order systems, warehouse management programs, or similar tech applications
  • Previous experience managing projects or departments with a minimum of $2M annual spend
  • Ability to research and connect with external vendors and 3rd Party providers
  • Effectively uses multiple communication modes to connect with business partners- Microsoft Teams, Sharepoint, OneNote, Outlook, live meetings, etc.
  • Must be able to juggle multiple tasks and maintain a composed and professional demeanor within a flexible and interruptive work environment.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail so no customer “falls through the cracks”.
  • Must be willing to be trained in a variety of new skills as needed.
  • Spanish language familiarity is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to work safely in a warehouse environment with occasional light lifting (<35#’s)
  • Ability to work seated or standing for multiple hours
  • Ability to look at a computer screen for extended periods of time
