Job Description

Your Career

As the Technical Director of Technology Partnerships, you will be responsible for developing and executing the company’s technology partner strategy with the goal of growing a global ecosystem of Technology partners (ISVs/3rd party product companies) and enabling delivery of the company’s products and services with them. You will have the responsibility for developing the technical strategy for the Technology Partnerships Team (TPT) in alignment with product management and with direct input from the Sales and Sales Engineering organization.  You will bring the insight of our partners’ roadmaps and vision to the Palo Alto Networks to align with the Product Management and Speedboat priorities . You will be a company spokesperson  facing the market to discuss the most strategic Technology Partner initiatives, interacting and influencing Partners, industry executives, analysts, and other technology companies.

Mission: Drive the technical vision, architecture, integration recommendations and technical execution of our key partnerships across the PANW portfolio of solutions

Your Impact

  • You are a seasoned leader who will own technology partnerships technical vision and will support strategy discussions with PM, Engineering, and TPT leadership - These strategic interactions will include “Art of the possible” discussions to uncover or confirm how our partnerships and integrations can bring significant customer value
  • You will drive technical partnership integration strategies, per speedboat, by collaborating with the entire TPT as well as Product management and Engineering - You will be the expert on our tech partners’ technology and their roadmap/vision, as well as how their solutions work and interoperate with other solutions
  • You will define and own our cross-portfolio AI Technical partnership strategy -  This will require you to be an expert on our existing AI offerings and roadmap, as well our internal use of AI - You will be the expert in the most impactful AI partnership opportunities and how we can work with them to allow PANW to be the defacto standard for AI security
  • You will be responsible for building architectures/blueprints and other artifacts to describe and evangelize our integrations and solutions with our partners -You will be responsible for tracking and maintaining the Tech Partner provided software and or hardware installed in labs in Santa Clara and or Plano
  • In collaboration with our marketing team, you will drive a messaging framework for our most impactful partner ecosystems to ensure we increase our share of voice and evangelize our partnerships, integrations and joint solutions
  • You will coach and mentor all the engineers and solutions architects on the TPT
  • Your sphere of influence will be across all of Palo Alto Networks product partnership domains, as well as being lead technical interface with MSSP, Solutions, Channels, CSPs, GSI leadership teams within Global Ecosystems
  • You will build trusted relationships in our technology partner ecosystem
  • You will enable and support our Sales Engineering teams so that they may leverage our technical integrations to benefit our customers and prospects

Qualifications

Your Experience 

  • Prior experience that should include individual ownership and leadership roles in one or more of the following areas, Product management, Engineering, Sales Engineering, Solutions Architecture or the Office of the CTO
  • Extensive experience with technology and technology partner ecosystems as well as internal product management
  • Extensive knowledge of security products and architectures, including - SoC solutions, Cloud security, network security, AI offerings and Securing AI
  • Experience engaging as a CxO-level advisor
  • Prior experience building and leading teams of engineers, architects and SMEs
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills
  • Recognizable industry personal brand preferred

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $232,000/yr to $318,750/yr. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
