Your Career

As a Unit 42 Senior Billing Specialist, you will have a unique opportunity to work cross functionally with senior leadership, business operations, and other key stakeholders and learn about the different functions within Unit 42. We are looking for a Senior Billing Specialist to drive and enhance our month end billing cycle including customer billing, project financial management, and reporting within Global Security Consulting Operations. This role requires a strong and collaborative individual who is detail-oriented, highly organized and self-motivated. They will be capable of multitasking and prioritizing multiple deadlines to drive successful execution of the month end billing cycle.

 

The ideal candidate is comfortable with AdaptiveWork Clarizen, or similar Project Management or Professional Services Automation software, Salesforce, SAP and Tableau; possesses a combination of customer billing and operations abilities to support Unit 42 and other stakeholders. This position will be reporting to the Senior Manager, Business Operations.

Your Impact

  • Manage month end billing processes by reviewing data, processing corrections, and verify accuracy while collaborating with cross-functional teams to adhere to established deadlines

  • Partner with the Business Operations Leads and key stakeholders to validate end of month and end of quarter billing and reporting for the Global Security Consulting team

  • Review customer statements of work and ensure accurate project creation in AdaptiveWork Clarizen for proper time capture

  • Identify and provide material changes to Accounting and Finance teams as needed

  • Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

  • Manage purchase orders, invoices and relationships for assigned vendors

  • Support insight-driven decisions: Conduct thoughtful analyses to identify trends and opportunities to streamline business processes

  • Integrate with cross-functional teams in the design, development, and enablement of Key Performance Indicators and business measurements for the unit’s programs

  • Deliver results: Develop high-quality quantitative and qualitative analyses to articulate insights and recommendations for leadership consumption

Qualifications

Your Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field of study

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in accounts payable/receivable or project billing for a Law Firm and/or Management Consulting organization 

  • Experience working cross-functionally and deep understanding of project setup, billing and expense processing

  • Sound understanding of accounting, revenue recognition, and financial reporting principles and practices within a management consulting organization

  • Knowledge of different contract and billing types preferred (fixed fee, hourly, etc.)

  • Preferred software experience including Salesforce, SAP, AdaptiveWork Clarizen, or other Professional Services Automation or Project Management equivalent, and Tableau

  • Strong team player, and independent thinker, with high intellectual and emotional intelligence

  • Deadline-driven, organized and willing to adapt to the rapid business and organizational demands that result from a high-growth environment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to articulate complex ideas effectively and foster positive connections with others

  • Strong spreadsheet skills, Google and Microsoft Office suite, including pivot tables and vlookup formulas

  • Experience with financial analysis is strongly preferred

  • Thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with proven ability to work autonomously, prioritize projects, and solve problems requiring meticulous attention to detail

  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends during invoicing cycle

Unit 42 Consulting is Palo Alto Network's security advisory team.  Our vision is to create a more secure digital world by providing the highest quality incident response, risk management, and digital forensic services to clients of all sizes. Our team is composed of recognized experts and incident responders with deep technical expertise and experience in investigations, data breach response, digital forensics, and information security. With a highly successful track record of delivering mission-critical cybersecurity solutions, we are experienced in working quickly to provide an effective incident response, attack readiness, and remediation plans with a focus on providing long-term support to improve our clients’ security posture. 

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $118,000 - $191,500/YR. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found here.
