ORIX Corporation USA is seeking an Executive Legal Assistant. The successful candidate will play a central role in managing the key support functions of the ORIX USA Group Legal & Compliance Department, including supporting the Deputy General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, the Legal operations team, and related matters of ORIX Corporation USA, its U.S. and foreign affiliates, and its ultimate parent, ORIX Corporation (Tokyo: 8591 and NYSE: IX).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Directly assist Deputy General Counsel on a variety of matters, noting the confidentiality and sensitivity of matters worked on and, as-requested for other Legal Department members; assistance includes executive assistant related matters such as booking travel, managing schedules, etc.
- Serve as a key member of the ORIX USA Group Corporate Governance team in overseeing a variety of matters with an emphasis on continuous process improvement
- Direct, coordinate, and oversee the negotiation and execution of corporate contracts; assist the Deputy General Counsel with preparing complex legal documents requiring knowledge of legal terminology and advanced formatting skills
- Create, determine, document, and implement various corporate policies, initiatives and/or programs, including repeatable department processes
- As a key member of the Legal Operations team, determine and drive operational aspects of the Legal & Compliance Department
- Assess and develop Legal & Compliance Department processes to improve overall productivity for attorneys and support personnel
- Assist with legal spend management with outside law firms and other vendors
- Maintain good relationships with senior leaders, team members, and other employees as well as external clients and others doing business with ORIX USA
- Assist with administrative functions such as making copies, mailing documents, filing, etc. (we have a "no job too small culture")
- Other projects and duties as assigned

This position has frequent contact with all levels of employees and management and requires high levels of good judgment and discretion. In addition, this role may interact with outside business partners, vendors, consultants, and other office visitors.
Education, Skills & Experience
Required
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an ABA approved paralegal program, or a Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies or related field
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Maintain a positive attitude and consistent demeanor, upholding the highest standards of ethics and professional conduct.
- Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and contribute to a variety of projects.
- Collaborate effectively with teams and colleagues, while consistently meeting all essential duties and responsibilities.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven with a strong desire to improve processes continuously.
- Able to work independently with minimal guidance, adapting quickly to new tasks and responsibilities.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrate discretion and maintain confidentiality while handling daily activities.
- Self-motivated and efficient, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment; flexible and capable of working under pressure to meet tight deadlines and handle frequent interruptions. Skilled in adjusting priorities quickly in a rapidly evolving environment.
