Purpose and Job Summary:

ORIX Corporation USA ("ORIX") is seeking a Director to support the growth of a newly-established investment strategy focused on GP Solutions. In this role you will be a critical member of an investment team deploying capital on behalf of ORIX's corporate balance sheet and third-party investors in fund finance transactions, with a particular emphasis on NAV lending. You will be responsible for all aspects of investment execution including sourcing, diligence, presenting opportunities to Investment Committee, and ongoing portfolio management. This is a compelling opportunity for an experienced private markets investor with ties to Dallas to join an entrepreneurial investment platform and contribute meaningfully to its continued growth and success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Origination: Work closely with senior investment professionals to source and evaluate investment opportunities including intermediary and sponsor coverage, ongoing target transaction pipeline management, and preliminary investment analysis with support of Associate resources
  • Execution: Lead investment execution including deal process management; business, financial, transaction, and sponsor due diligence; supporting terms negotiation and documentation management; and driving Investment Committee process
  • Portfolio Management: Provide ongoing performance monitoring of investment portfolio and associated financial sponsors. Manage quarterly Portfolio Review and drive investment reporting with support of Associate resources
  • Management: Lead, train, and mentor Associate resources to execute roles successfully; contribute to ongoing team-building and recruiting; and identify opportunities to enhance investment strategy, execution, and engagement with internal and external stakeholders

Education, Skills and Experience:

  • 4-6 years of relevant experience with a particular focus on candidates who have completed an Analyst program within a leading investment bank and have transitioned to a principal investing role, ideally for 2+ years focused on fund finance transactions and/or private equity direct lending
  • Undergraduate degree with exceptional academic achievement
  • Experience with a range of business model types and industries
  • Extensive financial modeling skills and experience in Excel
  • Extremely intellectually curious and highly self-motivated
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Desire to reside in Dallas for the long term
