Manager, Core Infrastructure | Remote, USA

The Manager of Core Infrastructure will be responsible for leading a team of administrators that manage, configure, and implement the cloud and server environments for Optiv. This person must be able to effectively communicate, document projects, issues, develop action plans and deliver results on time. The Manager of Core Infrastructure will have expert experience with VMware, Azure, AWS, and Data Center management.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Effectively communicate, document projects, issues, develop action plans and deliver results on time
  • Oversee data center support for 2 co-located facilities
  • Provide expertise for IT infrastructure
  • Assume responsibility for Azure and AWS management
  • Lead team that monitors, patches, and manages hardware, server, and cloud environments
  • Ensure that applications and environments are monitored for high availability to maintain business continuity and SLA's
  • Provides leadership in the development of operational level agreements with the business units
  • Develop and Maintain scripts to automate deployment and standardization
  • Cloud PaaS and Saas management
  • Performs problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations
  • Stays current with technological developments in systems administration technology and recommends ways to take advantage of new technology
  • Provide training, mentorship and ongoing support of cloud best practices
  • Goal setting for department and team members
  • Weekly/bi-weeks one on one with employees to set priorities and get feedback
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and with expected quality
  • Vendor Management

What we're looking for:

  • B.A. or B.S. in a technical field or a relevant combination of education and experience
  • 5 or more years of Information Technology management experience preferred
  • 7+ years of expertise in implementing, administering, and troubleshooting cloud and infrastructure environments
  • Prior experience in a lead role on core and communications applications
  • Excellent Verbal and Written Skills - must be able to present projects to executive leadership team
  • Expert experience supporting Azure and AWS cloud technologies
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Strong understanding of storage and data management technologies
  • Good knowledge cloud security principles
