The Credit Analyst analyzes credit data and financial statements of firms to mitigate risk involved in extending credit to commercial customers. The Credit Analyst is also responsible for leading the efforts in establishing customer credit worthiness and ensuring customer account captures accurate financial data. Cross functional collaboration with internal and external customers including legal, sales, clients and other leaders in the organizations.

How you'll make an impact

  • Partner with Sales team to obtain credit applications and new customer set up forms.
  • Review financial statements, research credit analyst reports, calculate financial ratios and check bank and trade references and approve credit lines up to $1M, including setting payment terms based on credit viability.
  • Recommend to management credit lines above $1M and not limited to, as well as recommendations to not establish credit with a customer.
  • Understand and apply commercial credit and collections regulations and procedures.
  • Communicate credit review and credit holds to management.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and continually work to improve information accuracy.
  • Perform monthly credit reviews.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we're looking for

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 3 or more years related experience required..
  • General knowledge of accounting and reading financial statements required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.
  • Experience with internet navigation searching for company's financial information and quarterly reports.
  • Working knowledge of computer software, including CRM applications (SF.com and NetSuite) preferred.
  • Ability to make sound decisions based on the Corporate Credit Policy without a lot of guidance.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills as well as analytical skills.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills required.
  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills required.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry, including concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
  • Ability to clearly communicate via telephone, e-mail and written.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding (understanding that a reasonable person would have) to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Regular office environment with exposure to moderate noise.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time,
  • Ability to input data into computer utilizing hands to finger to tab to different fields to input data.
  • Ability to answer telephone and talk and hear other party.
  • Ability to view computer screen, close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
  • Ability to lift 10 pounds
