POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Human Resources for Optima Tax Relief, LLC (Optima) is located in the Santa Ana, California office and reports to the Chief Executive Officer. This pivotal role collaborates closely with leaders at all levels to enhance workforce capabilities, ensure compliance with employment practices, and seamless delivery of employee support services. Through leading a team of HR professionals in HR Operations, Benefits, and HR Information Systems, this role is responsible optimizing our HR processes, minimizing risk, ensuring a safe and inclusive workplace experience, overseeing comprehensive benefits programs, and managing the integration and functionality of our HRIS to align with our strategic objectives. As a leader, this role must also champion Optima's culture and Core Values and help lead the department to deliver the best employee experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Manages the Human Resources Operations, Benefits, and Human Resources Information Systems team members ensuring the company is compliant and in alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Provides training, guidance & coaching, development, corrective action, and performance improvement plans to direct reports as necessary in order to ensure the team is delivering services in accordance with the company's goals and requirements.
  • Develops and implements HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy by defining objectives, identifying and evaluating trends and options, choosing a course of action, and evaluating outcomes.
  • Gathers and analyzes key HR metrics of the company and provides expert-level summaries and plans of action to leadership.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. This includes remaining knowledgeable of upcoming/potential employment laws and regulations.
  • Manages employee relations issues by conducting workplace investigations and addressing demands, grievances, and other issues that may arise.
  • Leads the development and deployment of HR information systems that meet company needs.
  • Works with leadership and legal to develop and update employment policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the selection and administration of the benefits program. Includes analyzing trends, making suggestions for updates to the program, and engaging in the delivery of our Wellness programs.
  • Works closely with leadership at all levels to ensure alignment and provide support for our people operations.
  • Promotes a positive work culture to maintain high energy, morale, and continuous motivation.
  • Actively participates in Optima culture events and activities.
  • Follow company protocols to ensure the highest level of security to protect the client Personal Identifiable Information (PII).
  • Other duties as assigned.
In order to be provided the essential training required to be successful in this role, it is mandatory that you are present for and complete all essential/initial training onsite for up to 5 business days (unless prior management approval is provided). Please note that additional onsite training may be required depending on business need.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 - 5 year's relevant experience required.
  • Experience working with an HRIS.
  • HR certification or equivalent HR certification preferred, but not required.

  • Expert-level knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Leader, mentor, and strong advocate for your team.
  • Ability to manage several concurrent projects of high priority and impact.
  • Exhibit a high level of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, build relationships throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Strong business acumen. Including expert analytical skills.
  • Superb organizational, written, and communication skills.
  • Proficient and comfortable with office equipment (computer skills Microsoft Office, Outlook).
  • Remain focused and productive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
