NVIDIA's Networking BU group is seeking to hire a Software Engineer for the Ethernet Switch SDK team. The next generation of Ethernet Switches are a key component of the most innovative AI and Cloud Computing Networks in the world. This is a key driver for innovation and growth not only for NVIDIA but our end customers as well. As a member of the Ethernet Switch Software Team, you will design and develop the SDK Library abstraction layer. This role will require you to participate in the design & development of the software while working closely with Architecture, Firmware and QA teams to ensure timely delivery of our products to the market.

What you'll be doing:
- Research, prototype, develop and optimize APIs, tools and libraries for Switching, Routing, Telemetry, Analytics, and many other modules.
- Analyze, influence and improve the performance of software libraries, APIs, and tools according to good engineering practices.
- Collaborate with other team members, architects, firmware engineers and QA teams
- Innovate & rapidly develop proof of concept prototypes that can then be developed into full fledged products/solutions
- Collaborate with other Nvidia R&D teams around the globe.
What we need to see:
- A Master's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
- Outstanding proficiency in C Programming, with a strong focus on improving performance and crafting efficient code.
- Scripting skills (Python or Bash or Perl)
- Strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of algorithms and proficient with data structures Operating System concepts like memory management, user-space vs kernel space, mutual exclusion, multi-threading
- Experience with Linux distributions
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Proven understanding of Networking protocols (at L2, L3, L4 layers).
- Creative, self motivated and collaborative person comfortable working with local and international teams.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
- Previous experience (1-2 years) working with Networking Products or Embedded Systems
- Experience with toolchains like GNU, CMAKE, GCC or other
compilers - Contributions to open source software for e.g. contributions to Linux kernel or maintainer of projects in GitHub

The base salary range is 120,000 USD - 230,000 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.
