Senior Manager, Silicon Photonic Test Development

Our team's focus is on the architecture and design of CMOS and Silicon-Photonics high-speed chip interfaces (NVLink, IEEE, PCIE, USB, OIF) and other complex photonic functions.

It is required to have a proven record in carrying designs from initial concept to customer. You will have the opportunity to define product architectures, work on developing high-speed active and passive photonics components, and contribute to the development of the next-generation photonics program. You will be the key interface with stakeholders and leadership internally and externally. In addition, you will be the lead technical engineer assessing risks and identifying timely solutions to achieving program goals.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead development of Silicon Photonic test stations and automation
  • Lead the optical test and automation engineering teams consisting of software development and hardware engineering.
  • Collaborate with photonic device designers, product development and chip leads
  • Work with other test engineering and design validation teams to perform full test and device characterization of silicon photonic devices.
  • Partner with module developers and design teams to do electro-optical testing of the modules
  • Work on laser package testing.
  • Collaborate with external vendors to ensure timely development and delivery of wafers, equipment and other hardware
  • Engage in problem-solving and contributing with novel ways to save test time. Work closely with hardware and software teams on functionality, interfaces, and documentation.

What we need to see:

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a similar discipline with 12+ overall years of experience in a related field and 6+ years of leadership experience
  • 8+ years of experience in optical systems, Opto-Electronics devices
  • In-depth knowledge of photonic device physics, semiconductor laser, and device physics
  • Extensive (8+ years) experience optical system testing, wafer probers and module testing
  • Strong experience with data analysis and device characterization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
