We are looking to staff this Component Engineering position that is based in Shenzhen, China at NVIDIA Corporate. The Sr. Component Engineer will have the responsibility for maintaining the electronic and electromechanical component ownership for designs and thus be responsible for identifying, qualifying, detailing and releasing components. This role will work with the multiple teams, key ones being - Hardware design engineering, Procurement, Commodity management, Quality, Reliability and Compliance.
What you'll be doing:
- Participate in the design, assembly, and testing of components to make sure they meet the product design specifications for function, performance and quality.
- Assist design engineers in selecting, qualifying, approving and documenting release of new components.
- Maintain components through PDP and part library tools and manage product lifecycle management.
- Contribute to optimize component library and continuous improvement of efficiency via component library batch data analyst.
- Align on sourcing strategies, PSL and part reuse.
- Participate in PCN management and drive Value Engineering for supply chain Risk Mitigation.
- Support component quality and thus support Operations Quality organizations including quality development, maintenance, failure analysis and resolution activities.
- Participate in developing the knowledge base of the global material industry, manufacturers, technologies, processes, products and applications for the Consumer, Commercial, Industrial, Automotive, Datacenter, Healthcare, and other emerging AI market segments.

What we need to see:
- BSEE or equivalent required.
- Must have good interpersonal skill, both written and verbal.
- Over 10 years of engineering experience in component and commodity engineering, servicing multiple design teams. Technical leadership experience in all types electrical and electromechanical components in boards and systems. In depth knowledge of all tiers of electrical commodities is required.
- Must be capable of coordinating cross functionally with groups such as Hardware Design, Reliability, Regulatory Engineering, GCM (Global Commodity managers), Manufacturing Engineering, and Contract Manufacturer organizations to problem solve pertaining to component selection and use.
- Having hands-on hardware design experience is a plus. Understanding schematics and possessing design process flow knowledge is required.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
- Agile or PTC Windchill, Confluence, Tableau, and SAP
- Memberships in SAE International. IEEE, ASME, and other professional and standards organization
- Working experience with an automotive manufacturer, or in-depth knowledge of ISO/ IATF16949, AIAG, APQP, PPAP, PSW, IMDS, GASG/GADSL guidelines and requirements
- SiliconExpert, IHSM, and similar 3rd party applications
- Knowledge of ISO, EIA/ECIA, JIS, IEEE, ASME, ANSI, JTAG, JDEC, FCC, CE, TUV, VDE, EM/IEC, ISO, UL, CSA, OSHA, NEC, Energy Star, RoHS, G.D. & T, DFMEA, PFMEA.
