What you'll be doing:

As a DevTech Leader, you'll define and lead all aspects of your team's strategic technical and business initiatives, setting short- and long-term goals. You'll make decisions in a demanding and dynamic environment. Core responsibilities include:

  • You'll be directing a team of highly skilled technologists who work directly with the Developer Community. The DevTech mission is to research, analyze, and develop techniques to optimize performance of complex parallel algorithms and workloads on the NVIDIA platform (CPU and GPU). Your senior team members are self-directed professionals, while more junior engineers need your mentorship and guidance.
  • Driving Innovation: You and your team are visible and recognized domain experts. The findings from your team are valuable information that influences the design of next-generation hardware architectures, software, and programming models. This means close collaboration with research, hardware, system software, libraries, and tools teams at NVIDIA.
  • Technical Leader: Use your technical background to support technical design decisions, summarizing and communicating both short-term and long-term technical solutions to collaborators for NVIDIA HW and SW product KPI improvement. Prioritize and drive key initiatives and projects with focused management and technical support, providing input based on your teams' discoveries. Support building strong technical expertise in your team.
  • Coaching and Growing Your Team: With the challenges of a partially remote team, you'll look for ways to foster a cohesive team culture, idea proliferation, and the pursuit of engineering excellence. Plan and implement joint team events such as all-hands meetings and focused strategic workshops, virtual and in-person. Take an active role in encouraging ongoing career development. Promote and support your team's external and internal facing activities. Hire the best talent to develop a diversified team.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Your ability to effectively communicate with a variety of audiences as a presenter or one on one is crucial to your teams' success. Work with Company leadership in decision-making, program management, and initiative implementation. Collaborate across the engineering organizations as you advocate for next generation HW and SW products. Develop and build relationships with all employees to enhance the efficiency and responsiveness of existing operations.
  • Process Improvement: Drive improvement and promote best practices- Identify variances in execution, driving horizontal projects to enhance technical and productivity aspects. Review and implement improvements to the organizational structure, addressing knowledge and skills gaps. Improve current processes and optimize procedures for increased efficiency and productivity. Streamline and facilitate inter-organizational communications.

What we need to see:

  • An MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or in a related computationally focused science degree (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ overall years of relevant experience with 4+ years in a technical role and 3+ years of experience in an engineering leadership role.
  • You've kept close to emerging AI technologies while you practiced leadership and refined your communication and partnering skills. You feel ready to take the next step where your decisions are even more impactful to the Company's success.
  • A technology background in performance optimization that includes parallel programming, e.g., CUDA, OpenMP, MPI, pthreads, etc.
  • Programming fluency in C/C++ with a deep understanding of algorithms, software development. Hands- on experience with low level performance optimizations.
  • In-depth expertise with CPU and GPU architecture fundamentals.
  • Proven experience with recruiting top talent
  • Proven track record of planning and leading critical initiatives.
  • Excellent written and presentation skills

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • A PhD in a relevant field is highly valued.
  • Expertise in parallelization and performance optimization of Deep Learning training and inference arising from Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Recommender Systems, etc.
  • Experience optimizing the performance of distributed database systems and frameworks (e.g. production in-memory database or Spark).
  • Excellent understanding of linear algebra.

The base salary range is 220,000 USD - 419,750 USD. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits. NVIDIA accepts applications on an ongoing basis.
