Field Service Specialist - Electrical & Heat Tracing

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

  • Assist sales and clients on technical, procedural, and commercial needs to ensure reliable performance of our applications and full customer satisfaction
  • Represent nVent in engineering design discussions with, for example, clients and sub-contractors
  • Resolving reported failures within the warranty period and supporting customers for failures outside the warranty period
  • Organizing interested parties to resolve warranty cases as the need arises
  • Provide product training to partners and installers, including product orientation to potential installers. Ability to run technical training
  • Ensuring that installation instructions are being adhered to by installers
  • To write technical reports and field reports
  • Variable working environments, with frequent requirements to enter manufacturing plant requiring protective safety equipment (safety shoes and glasses). This function requires the use of hand tools and a brazing torch with occasional work in confined spaces

YOU HAVE:
  • Ideally 5+ years of previous experience in delivering product/technical training/working with power distribution and/or heat tracing or industrial applications and/or control and monitoring
  • Validated experience as an electrical technician or electrician, with knowledge of electrical systems and equipment
  • Journeyman electrician license or equivalent certification preferred
  • Ability to Read and interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams, and technical specifications to determine wiring layouts and installation procedures
  • Physical stamina and manual dexterity to perform tasks requiring bending, kneeling, lifting to 50lbs, climbing, and working in confined spaces
  • Ability to speak and write in proficient English and French preferred
  • Must be able to work from a home office within 1 hour from Mississauga or GTA and be available for overnight travel 2-4 days a week across the Ontario and Quebec region
  • Experience with resolving product installation issues with end customers
  • Knowledge of governing bodies (NEC, IEC, IEEE) concerning products
