We are currently seeking a Testing Project Manager to join our team in Bismarck, North Dakota (US-ND), United States (US).

Overview of job:

The Testing Project Manager will work collaboratively with the client, team members, and vendors to manage all testing phases of a large, modular, IT solution implementation project. The Testing Project Manager will oversee daily operations which includes day-to-day staff management as well as contract and budget management.

In collaboration with the assigned Director, the Testing Project Manager will lead the team to ensure requirements and business needs are met during the project's Testing phases. They and will work directly with the vendors, business users and other stakeholders to provide recommendations on project issues, risks and direction as well as provide required reporting.

The Testing Project Manager will be responsible for providing specialized leadership, knowledge, and expertise of testing methods, processes, and tools for all testing phases. They will work with team members, vendors, and client users to plan, develop, and execute unit, system, end-to-end, integration, interface, and user acceptance test cases. The Testing Project Manager will also be responsible for reporting testing status and managing defects.

Job Responsibilities Include:
  • Relationship and expectation management including working daily with key client leadership
  • Manage the staff on the testing team
  • Develop, maintain, and manage to a project schedule; including ensuring the tasks are appropriately assigned and deadlines are being met
  • Develop, maintain, and manage project plans, communication plans, risk logs, issue logs, and other work products essential to effective project management of the team and services
  • Ensure that all processes and methodologies are executed and followed as applicable
  • Lead testing activities (unit, system, end-to-end, integration, interface, and user acceptance).
  • Assess the coverage and integrity of vendor and state testing.
  • Develop Test Plans and other testing deliverables (status reporting, defect reporting, etc.).
  • Manage the overall test approach and execution throughout the SDLC
  • Objectively evaluate processes, work products, and services against applicable process descriptions, standards, and procedures through all testing cycles
  • Develop, review, and assess the activities, deliverables (i.e. test plans, testing solutions, results, schedules, and quality) and results of the teams
  • Coordinate and execute test cases across the project enterprise
  • Provide comprehensive requirements traceability, including the ability to track user stories and technical tasks from backlogs through all levels of distributed testing using client approved tools.
  • Identify, document, and maintain defects within the system in an approved defect management lifecycle
  • Deliver testing progress and status metrics via written and verbal communication methods
  • Collaborate with other business areas to provide subject matter expertise and assistance as applicable
  • Monitoring for potential items or requests that need to follow the change control process


Required Qualifications:
  • College Degree or equivalent business experience
  • Minimum 6 years of experience with large Health and Human Services IT Projects
  • Minimum 3 years of Test Management experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or willingness to obtain certification if hired


Preferred Skills:
  • Quality or Testing Certification desired (ISTQB/ASTQB)
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and testing processes, tools and industry standards
  • Experience in at least one healthcare IT implementation project
  • Knowledge of Life Cycle Management Tools for example, Jira, JAMA or ALM.
  • Additional industry knowledge of mobile, web, automation, compatibility, performance testing and the supporting tools a plus
