We are currently seeking a Senior JIRA/Atlassian Administrator to join our team in McLean, Virginia (US-VA), United States (US).

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior JIRA/Atlassian Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have over five years of hands-on experience in administering and customizing JIRA, Confluence, and other Atlassian tools, along with a solid background in project management, software development, and Agile methodologies. This role involves configuring, maintaining, and supporting JIRA environments, as well as integrating JIRA with other tools and platforms to meet organizational needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • JIRA Administration: Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade JIRA, including plugins and add-ons. Manage user accounts, permissions, workflows, and security schemes. Perform data migration and integration of other tools into JIRA.
  • Confluence Administration: Set up, configure, and maintain Confluence spaces and pages. Manage user permissions and integration with JIRA and other systems. Provide ongoing support and customization as required.
  • Project Management: Design and configure projects, workflows, custom fields, screens, permission schemes, and issue types based on project requirements. Utilize Agile methodologies to enhance project tracking and reporting.
  • System Administration: Perform system backups, updates, and re-indexing to ensure high availability and peak performance. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the Atlassian environment.
  • Data Integration and Reporting: Develop custom reports, dashboards, and gadgets using Atlassian SDK and Java. Generate ad-hoc and scheduled reports for stakeholders using tools like eazyBI, Tableau, and other reporting platforms.
  • Training and Support: Train internal teams on using JIRA and Confluence. Develop user manuals and documentation to enhance user adoption. Provide technical support to end-users and troubleshoot issues.
  • Automation and Scripting: Implement automated workflows, triggers, and integrations using JIRA APIs, ScriptRunner, and other automation tools. Develop scripts to manage tasks such as migrating projects, importing/exporting data, and automating routine activities.
  • Continuous Integration/Deployment: Work with development teams to set up CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Bamboo, GitLab, and AWS. Support and maintain deployment processes to enhance software delivery.
Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

5+ years of experience with the Atlassian product suite, specifically JIRA and Confluence, in an administrative capacity.

5+ Application Management-Developer Tools-Atlassian Jira Administration

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with integrating JIRA with other software (Slack, Jenkins, GitHub).
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools.
  • Knowledge of cloud services, specifically AWS, including EC2, VPC, IAM, and S3.
  • Experience in vulnerability management and patching.
  • Strong understanding of security best practices within JIRA and Confluence environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies (SCRUM, Kanban) and experience in Agile project management.
  • Experience in system administration, including Linux/Unix environments and cloud platforms like AWS.
  • Hands-on experience with database management (Oracle, PostgreSQL) and ETL tools (DataStage).
  • Proficiency in programming languages (Java, C++, SQL) and scripting for automation.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, GitHub, and GitLab.
  • Experience in configuring and using monitoring tools like Splunk or DataDog.
  • Strong communication skills with experience in training, documentation, and user support.


Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this remote role is 70k to 100k. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.
