NTT DATA, Inc. currently seeks a highly skilled SAP Procurement Consultant to support an SAP migration project focused on migrating procurement processes (MM module) from legacy systems to SAP ECC.
The consultant will play a key role in ensuring a seamless migration of procurement and supply chain processes, including vendor management, purchasing, and invoicing, to the new SAP environment. This role will require strong expertise in SAP MM (Materials Management), migration experience, and a deep understanding of procurement business processes
Position's General Duties and Tasks
In these roles you will be responsible for:
• Lead and support the migration of procurement processes (e.g., vendor management, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, goods receipt, invoicing) from multiple legacy systems to SAP ECC. Collaborate with the project team to develop and execute a clear migration strategy and timeline.
• Analyze existing procurement processes and document current state workflows. Map these processes to customer's global design model, identifying gaps and suggesting optimizations for the migration to the new system.
• Work with the data migration team to ensure the accurate and complete migration of procurement-related data, including vendor master data, purchase orders, contracts, and goods receipts. Oversee data mapping, data cleansing, and validation processes.
• Configure SAP MM (Materials Management) for procurement processes, including vendor management, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, goods receipt, invoicing, and material master data. Ensure alignment with business requirements and SAP best practices.
• Ensure proper integration between SAP MM and other modules (e.g., SAP SD, FICO, WM, and SRM), ensuring end-to-end process flow and data consistency. Work closely with cross-functional teams to align procurement processes with other business areas.
• Oversee and support the testing of the new procurement processes, including system integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT). Ensure that all processes are validated, data is accurate, and business requirements are met.
• Develop training materials and conduct end-user training sessions to ensure that the core and power users are equipped to effectively use the new SAP system. Document the migration process, configuration settings, and business processes for future reference.
• Provide issue resolution during the migration phase, including troubleshooting system errors, data discrepancies, and process challenges. Ensure that all procurement processes function smoothly post-migration.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, project managers, and technical teams to communicate progress, identify risks, and address concerns during the migration process.
• Support post-go-live activities, including resolving any procurement-related issues, monitoring system performance, and ensuring the successful adoption of the new system.
Requirements for this role include:
5+ years of experience in SAP MM (Materials Management) with a strong focus on procurement processes, including vendor management, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, goods receipt, and invoicing, with at least 2 full cycle implementations.
Proven experience in SAP migration projects, specifically in migrating procurement data and processes from legacy systems to SAP ECC
Strong SAP MM configuration experience, including the setup of purchasing documents, vendor master data, and integration points.
Experience in Aerospace and Defense industry highly desirable.
In-depth understanding of procurement processes and best practices, including integration with other SAP modules such as SD, FICO, and WM.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to business stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify root causes and resolve issues efficiently.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
Must be a US citizen.
Preferences: -
• SAP Certification in Materials Management (MM) or related SAP modules is a plus.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
Personal Attributes
• Self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Adaptable and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and process efficiency.
• Strong customer focus, with an ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders.
