Summary
About the role:
Corporate tax/ direct tax compliances, assessment, litigation handling for both Novartis entities in India, including liaising with auditors, consultants and interacting with tax authorities.
Local tax advisory on various business taxes, withholding taxes, foreign remittances, employment taxes and any other tax issues that arise from time to time. Additionally, contributing to tax risk management and learning & development programs.
About the Role
Key Requirements:
- Collation of relevant data & Preparation of Tax Audit Report (Form 3CD) along with annexures for and liasioning with Auditors for smooth completion of Tax Audit
- Assistance in compilation of data and preparation/e-filing of Income tax returns.
- Computation of Income tax provision, deferred tax working and contingent liability schedules (Statutory & MIS)
- TDS accuracy checks, advising on TDS for new transactions, resolving queries relating to TDS as well as issues generating in TRACES
- Collating data for/ preparing submissions for corporate tax assessments. Drafting reply/appeals against any other show cause notices/assessment orders issued by Income Tax department.
- Representation/ Follow up with the Income Tax Department for Refund Orders, Rectification Orders, Effect Orders etc
- Supporting in transfer pricing compliances/ audits as maybe necessary. Advising on tax matters/issues raised from time to time
- Effective communication within the organization to 100% accuracy and timeliness on tax compliances. Conducting tax awareness sessions for accounting & business teams

Essential Requirements:
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge of SAP will be a plus
Skills & Experience:
- 2-4 years' experience in corporate tax/ direct tax in a large tax-consulting firm or multinational company
- Candidate also having transfer pricing experience will be given further preference
